Bunnie Xo Claps Back At Fan Who Shamed Her For Staying With Jelly Roll After Affair: “Growth Isn’t Weakness, It’s Grace”
Not concerned with public opinion.
Bunnie Xo is again clapping back at trolls in her comments section, and I am once again laughing at the thought of those wanting to cross Bunnie Xo. I mean, if you love being publicly humiliated in a respectful way, keep commenting things, but I’d rather not, and I respect that Bunnie owns every aspect of her story.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are a country music powerhouse couple. While their stories might be different than that of someone who met at a bar, fell in love, got married, and had a family, fans are drawn to their unconventional past and their rags-to-riches story. Bunnie Xo was formally a worker in the sex industry in Las Vegas before meeting Jelly Roll, and the “Save Me” singer was in and out of trouble his whole life before deciding to turn his life around after his daughter was born while in prison.
The couple married in 2016, long before Jelly Roll became a household name, and she’s been by his side through his meteoric rise, not only serving as a mother to his now-16 year old daughter Bailee Ann but also building her own media empire with her Dumb Blonde podcast, all while trying to start her own family with Jelly Roll as she’s opened up about when discussing her fertility journey.
Of course, it hasn’t been easy for the couple. As Bunnie has discussed in the past, the two separated not long after getting married when she discovered that Jelly Roll was having an affair with an ex of his:
“We got married in 2016. The affair was started with an ex in 2017, and then I think I found out about it early on in 2018.”
The couple obviously worked things out, and Bunnie has even said she’s grateful for the experience because it’s made them a stronger couple:
“It happened for a reason, and I’m so thankful that it did because it just made us the best of friends.”
Recently, during an appearance on the Human School Podcast with Miles Adcox, Jelly Roll opened up on the affair, saying that it led him to question whether he would ever be able to clean up his act and admitted it was one of the darkest times of his adult life:
“I don’t talk about this publicly at all, but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife. Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all.’ Like, I know I’m in love with this woman. It was just such a – like it just really, really, really blew me back.”
And while he doesn’t agree that he’s thankful that the affair happened, he says that the process of repairing their relationship has been a special part of their story:
“And I did a lot of work to repair that relationship. You know what I mean? Like the repair has been special, man, and we’re stronger than we could have ever been.
I wish our story would have went in the way that it never had an affair, and I’m in no way glad it happened, but man I’m proud of who we are today… I truly am.”
Jelly Roll says that the affair happened while he was hanging with the wrong kind of friends, but that he’s since changed his mindset when it comes to the people he wants to surround himself with:
“I looked back at even that moment of my life, and it was like, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives… I used to be proud of longstanding friendships just because they had a number attached to them. Horrible humans, but I would just be proud to say a dude’s been with me 12 years…
I want to only be around people that I want to be like.”
Bunnie Xo shared that fans can read the whole affair story from her perspective in her upcoming book, ‘Stripped Down: Unfiltered & Unapologetic.’ While I know I’m looking forward to hearing the hurt and the reconciliation from Bunnie’s point of view, in the meantime, she’s not taking lip from those who disagree with her staying with Bunnie after this affair.
Bunnie Xo, per usual, is clapping back in the comments section, specifically one woman who said she can’t look up to Bunnie now, knowing that she stayed with a man who cheated on her:
“Oh my dear. Your husband had an affair on you. You took him back and have sung perfection since. I’m super bummed. We can’t look up to you now. Where are your friends. How can anyone support this? Dear lord, provide bunny strength to hop away.”
Bunnie Xo addressed this woman head-on, noting that it takes a strong woman to overcome these hardships versus walking away:
“It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping. Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace. But not everyone’s built for that kind of strength. I pray you never have to feel that pain bc you’re judging another woman’s life.”
Bunnie shared this interaction on her Instagram story, putting a yawning emoji as the caption. On top of that, she chose Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears” for the song playing in the story, which is a clear indication that she does not want anyone’s pity for her story. It’s part of their past, they own it, and they have grown from it.
Overcoming infidelity is not for everyone, and that’s okay. If you’re not willing to look past it —that’s your personal belief —but it’s shocking to me that women are publicly shaming Bunnie for choosing to stay, which absolutely takes more courage.
Her love for Jelly Roll is apparent, and vice versa, and their love has grown, creating the beautiful life they have today. No one is perfect, but it takes a wise, mature person to grow with someone they love.
Bunnie Xo takes “till death do us part” to heart from her vows and chooses Jelly Roll every day.The post Bunnie Xo Claps Back At Fan Who Shamed Her For Staying With Jelly Roll After Affair: “Growth Isn’t Weakness, It’s Grace” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
