Garth Brooks Says He Gave Guitar To Young Fan At F1 U.S. Grand Prix Because… It Wasn’t Working

So that’s why Garth Brooks gave away a guitar. In case you missed it, country music legend Garth Brooks played his only concert of 2025 last weekend. Over 100,000 fans piled into the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas to catch Garth’s sole show of the year, and from the videos online and what fans had to say about the show, it looked like one heck of a time. Garth Brooks shared details about the concert through a media outlet… directed connected to his website. There’s a news tab on garthbrooks.com that posted about the show that 100,000-plus fans attended, and here’s what Garth had to say about the high-energy concert he put on: “They were ready at the start and never waned. They had spent all day in over 90-degree heat and still had the strength to wear my ass out! It’s ALWAYS epic to play Texas.” If you just found out that Garth Brooks releases news stories about himself on his own website, don’t feel like you’ve been left out. I just found that out as well. Brooks traditionally likes to keep things close to his chest, so it makes sense that the one of the only news stories about the October 18 show is posted through Garth’s website. Which coincidentally doesn’t have a comment section… that’s undoubtedly intentional, and an attempt to ward off the “Where are the bodies?” community. As I stated earlier, the concert was apparently one to remember. Garth brought out all of the hits, including “Friends In Low Places” and “The Dance,” and had the multi-generational crowd in the palm of his hands. He also had a guitar in the palm of his hands that evidently gave out on him early on in the show… so he gave it away to a kid in the crowd. Here’s how he explained the moment going down: “I told the crowd, ‘On this ship, if you don’t work, you get off the ride.’ My guitar wasn’t working. I saw the child on his parent’s shoulders and just handed it to someone in the crowd who handed it back to someone who in turn handed it back to someone else. I watched the guitar travel on top of the crowd until it reached the young boy. THAT story defines the country music audience. That story describes Texas.” I’ll agree with Garth on this one… it is cool that the guitar crowd-surfed all the way back to who it was intended for. That is a country music audience, for sure. Here’s the video of the kid receiving the guitar that “no longer worked,” according to Garth: @masonkoma Country music legend in every way #garthbrooks #countrymus #ATX #garthbrooksfans #garth ♬ original sound – masonkoma On one hand, that’s a moment that the kid will never forget for the rest of his life. On the other… now he’s got to head to his nearest Guitar Center to get it fixed? The post Garth Brooks Says He Gave Guitar To Young Fan At F1 U.S. Grand Prix Because… It Wasn’t Working first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
