“Letting My 3-Year-Old Dog Run To My Parents’ House Every Time We Visit”

Goldendoodles are supposed to contain the best of both breeds. Sometimes you win the jackpot, and sometimes you walk away with the Kewpie doll. For Leah Stankus, most days feel like jackpot wins. Her dog, Otis, is a dream companion. One of the dog’s favorite activities is to run down the hill to Leah’s parents’ house. During part of the growing season, Otis can’t run in the fields. Once they bring in the hay, the dog can run alongside the car. To say that he is in his own world as he runs would accurately describe the situation. @leah_stankus It’s that time of year again the hayfield has been cut and Otis can finally run down to my parents again ♬ Old Man – Neil Young with The Stray Gators Leah has an almost identical video from last year. Watching Otis run is like watching the dog achieve nirvana. His entire body screams pure joy as he races down the hill. For those who are concerned, Leah drives beside Otis and matches his pace in the car. She has clocked him between 25 and 27 miles per hour. There might be a splash of cheetah in his doodle mix. When Otis isn’t running, he is a love sponge. While Leah’s grandmother was alive, Otis visited as often as possible. He lay gently beside her, sharing daily naps, and just “being.” During her waning time, Otis provided a sense of calm and comfort. When he’s not running or being an emotional support animal, Otis loves to travel and have adventures. @leah_stankus ♬ Cowpoke – Isaiah Sheffield Otis is an amazing travel companion. He enjoys hiking to remote locations. When it is time to stop and check out the view, he has no problem staying calm and taking it all in. If you can’t get enough of Otis, you can watch the dog run, play, and be incredible by following his mom on TikTok. Please share. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
