Brent Cobb Is A Disney Dad & Hopes To Write A Score For A Movie: “That Roger Miller ‘Robinhood’ Stuff”

A country music star and a “Disney Dad.” Brent Cobb stopped by the Whiskey Riff Raff podcast to talk about having his music featured in hit TV shows like Yellowstone and Landman, a wild night at a Grammys after party, how his young son inspired him to release his rock record Ain’t Rocked In A While, how his incredibly talented cousin, producer Dave Cobb, produced his very first album, a story about how Tyler Childers once opened for him and much more. Cobb is an highly-respected, Grammy-nominated artist whose music stretches from country to rock to Americana. Though he’s had a plethora of musical accomplishments in his career, the thing he’s most proud of is being a father. He and his wife, Layne, have two kids: a daughter named Lyla and a son named Tuck. His family often inspires the music that he creates, but Cobb appreciates that he can sometimes escape the creative landscape to just spend time with his family. We were talking about he and his wife’s trip to the 2018 Grammys (when Cobb was nominated for “Best American Album” for Shine On Rainy Day), and asked if he looks back on that wild trip to New York or his trips to Disney with his family more fondly. Brent Cobb responded by saying: “Disney is a lot of work. But definitely Disney trips with the kids. I haven’t done Disney Land in California, (only Disney World), but I want to go though. I never went to Disney World as a kid. That was not happening. We didn’t have the resources. My kids have gone every year, thanks mostly to my in-laws.” You’ve got to be a brave parent to really enjoy those Disney trips. And it’s clear that Brent Cobb actually does look forward to the Cobb family trips to the “House of Mouse.” If you need proof, look no further than this little tune called “Disney Dad” that the country music artist wrote, recorded and posted to his Instagram account: “Here’s a little sneak peak behind the curtain I’m a pappy first and that’s for certain. I ain’t no Disney adult, though, that’s a TikTok fad. I guess I’m what you’d call a Disney Dad.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Brent Cobb (@brentcobb) Yeah… you don’t just make a song called “Disney Dad” if you don’t love Disney World, and sharing the magical place with your kiddos. Brent Cobb’s kids love the theme park, and the 39-year-old has a soft spot for the place too. He even told us that, one day, he’d love to produce an entire score for a Disney production: “I’m into all that Roger Miller, ‘Robinhood’ stuff. I would love to write a whole score or whatever for something Disney.” @whiskeyriff Would love to see a @Brent Cobb x @Disney collaboration one of these days. // Check out the latest Whiskey Riff Raff podcast available now on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube. #whiskeyriff #brentcobb #whiskeyriffraff #disney ♬ original sound – Whiskey Riff Alright… I need a Brent Cobb produced Disney score ASAP.
