Pomegranates, Not Grenades

The founder of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, Ben Cohen, says that Unilever prevented the brand from creating a flavor for Palestine. Unilever bought Ben & Jerry’s in 2000 but Cohen has stayed on the board. A longtime critic of Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, Cohen accused Unilever of “corporate butt kissing” for refusing to approve an ice cream dedicated to Palestine. Now he says he’ll go it alone and make the flavor himself. He’s taken to X to crowdsource flavor ideas but so far, all he’s got is watermelon so he needs your help. We suggested he add pomegranate since pomegranates are native to West Asia. Also, the word “grenade” comes from the French word grenade, which means pomegranate. Imagine a world where grenadas were only for treats, not death. The post Pomegranates, Not Grenades appeared first on Redacted.
