BREAKING: Two Federal Judges Order Trump Admin to Pay Out SNAP Benefits

In a couple of back-to-back rulings, two federal judges have just ruled that the Trump administration must fund SNAP benefits (food stamps) for November. The benefits were set to expire before November 1st, due to the Democrat-fueled government shutdown. Now, in response to two separate lawsuits on the issue, a pair of Obama-appointed judges have ordered the Trump administration to ensure that SNAP recipients get their benefits. Here are the details: BREAKING: An Obama judge just decided President Trump’s administration is REQUIRED to pay SNAP benefits to Americans during the Schumer Shutdown …the judge also ordered Trump to find money from somewhere else (I guess) if “contingency” funds aren’t enough Absolutely… pic.twitter.com/UaaAdizTuN — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) October 31, 2025 BREAKING: An Obama judge just decided President Trump’s administration is REQUIRED to pay SNAP benefits to Americans during the Schumer Shutdown …the judge also ordered Trump to find money from somewhere else (I guess) if “contingency” funds aren’t enough Absolutely insane. The Democrats shut down SNAP, then they had a judge come in and decide to fund SNAP? Just OPEN THE GOVERNMENT! Breaking News: A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to continue paying for food stamps during the government shutdown. SNAP, which aids 42 million people, was set to run out of funds on Saturday without intervention. https://t.co/GvSUqzbbJ8 — The New York Times (@nytimes) October 31, 2025 Keep in mind that Congress’ emergency fund has $6 billion. The SNAP program costs more than that to keep running for only a month. ABC News noted: The decision comes one day before the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which runs the SNAP program, was scheduled to freeze SNAP payments due to the ongoing government shutdown. SNAP generally requires $8.6 billion in funding every month to provide 41 million Americans benefits and administer to the program. So, basically, these judges are telling the Trump administration that they have to find some way to pay out food stamps. Where’s the money going to come from with the government shut down? We don’t know, just figure it out! Fox News has more: A federal judge on Friday ordered theTrump administration to continue to fund Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during the ongoing government shutdown, delivering near-term relief to roughly 42 million Americans who received the aid just hours before the funding was slated to dry up. The emergency order from U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani said the Trump administration must resume SNAP benefits, which were slated to expire Nov. 1, ruling that plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit are likely to succeed on their claims that the suspension of the benefits is unlawful. She ordered the government to provide the court no later than Monday, Nov. 3, with additional details on how it plans to keep the program funded, and whether the appropriated benefits must be distributed in full or in part. Moments later, a separate federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration to continue paying for food stamps during the shutdown. U.S. District Judge John McConnell said the administration must tap its emergency funds to pay for the SNAP benefits “as soon as possible” next month. He issued the emergency order from the bench Friday during an emergency court hearing in Providence. Meanwhile, President Trump is taking a much more realistic approach to concerns about a lapse in funding for SNAP… Democrats, just swallow your pride and re-open the government already!
