Zach Top Calls Out Pat McAfee Just Before Nailing 30-Yard Field Goal: “Have Me On Your Show Pat!”
Zach Top can do it all.
The neotraditional country music artist took the world by storm with the release of his Cold Beer & Country Music album in 2024 ( I still can’t get “I Never Lie” out of my head). It quickly became obvious that country fans were longing for that 90’s sound, and Zach Top came at just the right time to fill that order.
He’s since followed it up with an album in 2025 titled Ain’t In It For My Health, which featured songs like “Good Times & Tan Lines” and “South of Sanity.” It might be a little confusing, but Top is currently out on his Cold Beer and Country Music Tour… even though his most recent album goes by a different name.
He’s still got plenty of dates on the tour, which will run through the end of the year in the states before kicking off an international leg in February of 2026:

You might notice that right now, he’s in between a couple of dates in Wyoming and North Dakota.
Based upon his latest social media post, he’s taken a pit stop near the University of Montana (or he filmed this while he was in Montana at the end of October and just now got around to posting it). The country music star was working on a different type of craft than what he normally hones in on… kicking footballs.
Top got out on the field at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana and decided to call out a high-profile figure in the sports world:
“Alright, Pat McAfee… I’ve got a 30-yard field goal set up here. And if I make it, I don’t want your tuition money. Just have me on your show. I’m an old, fat, smoking, drinking country music singer. I think you should be proud of me if I make this. Here it comes.”
Seems like an easy bet for Pat McAfee, who is always putting up hundreds of thousands of dollars on field goals on ESPN’s College GameDay.
Zach top then went through his routine (he looked like a pro doing so), took the recommended steps backwards, and then readied to take the kick that was set up 30-yards from the field goal. Not to spoil anything… but Top did end up converting on the 30-yarder.
Afterwards, he turns to the camera and says:
“Have me on your show Pat.”

That’s peak, male athleticism right there.
It even garnered a response from the man that Top was trying to get the attention of: Pat McAfee. The sports analyst and former NFL punter had this to say about Zach’s boot through the uprights:
“WHAT A KICK.”
Coming from someone that used to kick in the NFL (punting counts as kicking), that’s high praise from Pat. Here’s to hoping that McAfee does end up getting the country music star on his show… or on College GameDay. Seems like Zach Top would be the perfect fit for the pre-game show’s field goal kicking contest.
But at the very least, Zach Top deserves to be on The Pat McAfee Show…The post Zach Top Calls Out Pat McAfee Just Before Nailing 30-Yard Field Goal: “Have Me On Your Show Pat!” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
