There’s Still Time To Book a Holiday Stay In The Official “A Christmas Story” House

As kids, we always had that one big Christmas gift we hoped would land under our tree. It might have been a Barbie Dream House, a fancy Super Soaker water gun, or even a collection of coveted Beanie Babies. Those might have been in reach, but Ralphie Parker’s Christmas wish, an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle, was always met with the same response from the adults in his life. Every single one warned him, “You’ll shoot your eye out.” Yet in the end, the man in the red suit, or perhaps a very loving father, came through. Ralphie didn’t shoot his eye out, a true miracle on Cleveland Street. If your holiday wish is to stay in the A Christmas Story house, we’ve got big news. The Iconic Residence From “A Christmas Story” Is Available For Rent True fans of A Christmas Story can stay in the Parkers’ home, the Bumpus House, visit the museum, and purchase special merchandise during a trip to Cleveland, OH. The A Christmas Story house is available to rent year-round, with some dates still available in November and December. “Spend the night reliving your favorite movie and sleeping in brother’s twin beds. Overnight guests have use of the House’s private third floor loft for the entirety of their stay and use of the whole house from an hour after closing until 9 am the following day,” according to the website. For those wanting to stay next door at the home of the Bumpus Hounds, it’s a bit different. “The Stolen Turkey and Hound Dog Haven are separate suites within The Bumpus House. The Stolen Turkey Suite encompasses the second and third floors. The Hound Dog Haven Suite occupies the first floor,” per the website. We can’t imagine anything more iconic than the home from A Christmas Story during the holidays. It takes us all back to a simpler time when family was everything and a leg lamp was a major award. What a time to be alive. This story’s featured image is by Karen Longo. The post There’s Still Time To Book a Holiday Stay In The Official “A Christmas Story” House appeared first on InspireMore.
