Lukas Nelson & Sierra Ferrell Brought The House Down At 2025 Farm Aid Benefit Show With Incredible Performance Of “Find Yourself”

Beyond good. In September, Willie Nelson hosted his annual Farm Aid benefit at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which marked the 40th anniversary of the festival and featured performances by Willie along with Neil Young, and John Mellencamp and many more. There were several highlights throughout the annual event, which includes Willie’s incredibly emotional performance of “Last Leaf,” but I have to say, I’m completely blown away by  Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell’s incredible performance of Lukas’ song “Find Yourself.” The song was originally written in 2014, but was reworked and released on Lukas’ former band’s self-titled album, Promise of the Real, in 2017. If you’ve never taken the time to dive into that record, or more recently discovered his solo music thanks to the recent release of his amazing debut solo album American Romance, then you absolutely must… it’s one of my all-time favorite albums and truly changed my life. “Find Yourself” was written by Lukas and finds him warning his lover that he’s on his way out of the relationship because he can’t tolerate the way she treats him, saying that she needs to learn to love herself before the relationship can really work. And you might recognize some of the backing vocals on the original studio cut, as Lady GaGa is the female voice you hear and she sounds perfect. I know she’s a bit eccentric, but I’ve always been a fan of her and I think she’s incredibly talented. But as we all know, Sierra Ferrell is just next level, and she absolutely brought the house down during this performance. These two combined are beyond talented, and I am extremely jealous of anyone who got to witness this magic in person. Do yourself a favor and check it out… I’m obsessed: Speaking of Lukas and Sierra, the two of them have release a couple of songs together over the last several months, including a perfect bluegrass rendition of Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend,” which was written by Young and released as part of his 1992 album, Harvest Moon. They also put out a bluegrass version of Adele’s mega hit “Someone Like You,” which featured backing from The Travelin’ McCoury’s (same for “Unknown Legend”), and it’s absolutely incredible. They have a cool duo thing going on, so I’m going to need them to quit playing around and just put out a full bluegrass album together… we deserve it. “Unknown Legend” “Someone Like You” “Find Yourself” The post Lukas Nelson & Sierra Ferrell Brought The House Down At 2025 Farm Aid Benefit Show With Incredible Performance Of “Find Yourself” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
