Chadwick Boseman To Receive Huge Hollywood Honor
More than five years after his tragic death, a Marvel star will receive a huge honor. Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in August 2020 at just 43 years old. It was a devastating loss for those who loved him, including his colleagues in Hollywood. Billboard reported Chadwick will receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame posthumously. Ryan Coogler, who directed Black Panther, and his Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom co-star Viola Davis will speak at the ceremony. Chadwick’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the award on her late husband’s behalf.

Chadwick Boseman Had A Short But Promising Career
He played Jackie Robinson in 2013’s 42, solidifying Chadwick Boseman as a star. Sadly, cancer took his life a few short years later, but not before he made a big impact on Hollywood. Per Billboard, Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will emcee the event on November 20, and Chadwick’s star will be at 6904 Hollywood Blvd., in front of the Hollywood Experience.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement. “His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.”
Following Chadwick Boseman’s death, the Colon Cancer Foundation released a touching statement about the actor.
“Chadwick Boseman inspired generations through his singular performances in films such as 42, Marshall, and, of course, the Oscar-nominated Black Panther. Only after his death did the world learn that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, the same year he debuted as King T’Challa in Marvel’s ‘Captain America: Civil War’,” the statement reads. “Everyone who watched him on screen knew that Chadwick Boseman was an outstanding actor. Many people also knew he was a social justice advocate and an amazing role model. Now we realize that he was also a real-life superhero, showing us what we are capable of achieving no matter what the circumstance.”
