Tyler Childers Offers Words Of Encouragement For Zach Bryan After He Announced He’s Two Months Sober

Definitely for the best. Despite the fact that he played a limited touring schedule this year, there’s been no shortage of headlines surrounding Zach Bryan – although a lot of them had nothing to do with music. Obviously his relationship and nasty breakup with Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna Chickenfry has been a constant topic of conversation, largely due to the fact that she won’t stop bringing it up but also because Zach for some reason decided to take a shot out of nowhere at his ex-girlfriend earlier this year and reignite the war that had seemed to finally die down. Then of course there was the fence incident, where Zach jumped a fence at Born and Raised Fest in Oklahoma to confront Gavin Adcock over comments the up-and-coming country singer had made about him. But there was also his feud with (former) duet partner John Moreland, the comments that he made on social media to a 14-year old fan who was upset about not getting a picture with him, and the video that was leaked showing a bizarre interaction he had with a fan who was recording him with Meta glasses in a New York City bar. It’s been a rough year for Zach, and it seems like a lot of the issues have been fueled by alcohol. So it was good to hear yesterday when Zach took to social media yesterday and shared an update on his mental health, revealing that he was now two months sober: “I went out of my way to find a therapist and made the conscious decision to do something about my toxic relationship with booze and how I cope with major life changes.  I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly two months now- something I had to do for my own personal clarity. I needed to see the world objectively. My family supported every step I took. Conversations about the future, kids one day, my health and Sammy’s happiness made me prioritize not only myself, but my entire family. I feel great, I feel content, I feel whole. There is nothing to get me by anymore. If you or any of your friends are too tough, too scared, or too stubborn to reach out, know that the most stubborn dumba** on the planet did and didn’t regret it.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zach Bryan (@zachlanebryan) Now, because the internet is the way it is, there were still some pretty disgusting comments on posts about his sobriety, but Zach should be commended for realizing he had a problem and actually doing something to address it. That’s more than a lot of people do, because it’s not an easy step to take. But Zach also got plenty of support from artists who had been through the same thing themselves and also made the decision to get sober. Jake Owen, who celebrated four years of sobriety a couple months ago, showed his support for Zach’s decision: “Congrats on the booze bro. Big step. That’s big of you. Much respect” And even Tyler Childers, who Zach has long cited as an inspiration and who got sober himself back in 2020, offered his words of encouragement on the post: “Best decision ever brother” Hopefully two months is just the start of Zach’s journey to better himself. As he said in his post, maybe one day he can learn to control his drinking so that it’s not a problem, but good for him for realizing that right now it’s an issue and making changes to fix it.The post Tyler Childers Offers Words Of Encouragement For Zach Bryan After He Announced He’s Two Months Sober first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
