“When I Look At These Nominations, All I See Is God” – Jelly Roll Gets Emotional Reflecting On His 3 Grammy Nominations

Many artists are still riding a high from the CMA Awards that took place earlier this week, but Jelly Roll is looking ahead to the next big awards program in 2026. Jelly Roll was nominated for a CMA Award this year for Musical Event of the Year for his duet with Brandon Lake, but the “Save Me” singer was not in the crowd at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night. Bunnie Xo made a video sharing that the two needed some R&R after being constantly on the go. If you paid any attention to Jelly Roll’s press while he was touring in Australia, you would have noticed he was battling severe stomach issues that left him feeling unwell overall. While I am sure that Jelly Roll was tuned in to the CMA Awards, cheering on his friends and colleagues, he stayed home to get his mind right for the Grammy Awards, where He received a handful of nominations. Since the nominations had been announced, Jelly had remained pretty quiet until now, when he got in front of the camera to share his honest thoughts about what this means to him. “What’s up, y’all. By now, you have probably figured out that I look like a Ninja Turtle.” Jelly Roll opens the video by referencing that he shaved off his facial hair for the first time in over a decade. Bunnie Xo made a video highlighting his new, cleanly shaved face, leaving all his friends and family in utter shock. @xomgitsbunnie #jellyandbunnie ♬ original sound – Bunnie Xo Jelly Roll joked in Bunnie’s video that a “face lift might be in order,” depending on how his face looks post-weight loss, but after seeing his new look in this vlog, he looks super healthy and like a brand-new man. “One of the reasons that I even started growing a beard was because I was so obese it was just easier to cover up what was happening here, you know. Anyways, but I told y’all by the end of this vlog that I would talk to y’all about probably the craziest thing that’s ever happened in my life.” While that was major news in his personal life, Jelly Roll quickly dives into the huge news in his professional life, discussing his feelings about getting three Grammy Nominations this year. This year, Jelly Roll received three nominations for Best Contemporary Country Album with Beautifully Broken, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Amen” with Shaboozey, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake.  Reflecting on receiving these nominations for the 2026 awards show left Jelly Roll speechless and feeling like it was truly an act of God. “When I was in Australia, I woke up and found out that we were nominated for three…three Grammy nominations, y’all. Dude. When I made it to my first Grammys the year I had New Artist, I thought to myself, ‘This will be the only time I’m ever at the Grammys.’ And to be coming back three years later with more nominations than I’ve ever had is just, first of all, the gratitude, man. And I don’t care what other artists say, I don’t care what artists act like, I’m going to tell you the real truth. There’s not an artist in the world who didn’t grow up watching the Grammys when they were a kid, and walking into their bedrooms after to rehearse their speech.  God will take something abnormal and make it extremely normal, or He will take something already incredible and make it absolutely mesmerizing, and that’s the case here. Not only did God bring me back here in the best headspace, I’m thinking right about it, but he brought me here with the right kind of message. When I look at these nominations, all I see is God.  If it couldn’t get anymore, I don’t even know how to say it, I want to cry almost… just like WOW. Country Album of the Year… and it’s not even about the album or the nod, it’s about the name. I look at all my friends, like ‘Snipe Hunter,’ I’m a huge Tyler Childers fan, obviously. Kelsea with ‘Patterns.’ I see all my friends in this category, but then, standing there, I see this album called ‘Beautifully Broken.’ And, man, if that doesn’t represent what’s happening in the world right now, I think more than ever… I think we can find beauty in what’s happened.  Win, lose, or draw, holy f**k dude, we won.” Jelly Roll then notes that many artists don’t like the Grammys, but he feels honored that the Recording Academy considered him for this year’s awards. He feels like his nominations were all in Jesus’ hands. @officialjellyrollHow I REALLY feel about the Grammys… ♬ original sound – Jelly Roll We made the right person famous here, and it would be major to see him take home a win.
