The White House debuted a new section Friday on its website called the "Media Offender of the Week” at whitehouse.gov/mediabias. The elitist media can't stand being criticized. Beneath a banner reading "Misleading. Biased. Exposed.," the page highlights a series of media outlets and reporters, with the latest offenders being CBS News, The Independent and The Boston Globe on the “illegal orders” video Democrats made. “The Democrats and Fake News Media subversively implied that President Trump had issued illegal orders to service members," they argued. "Every order President Trump has issued has been lawful,” it reads. “It is dangerous for sitting Members of Congress to incite insubordination in the United States’ military, and President Trump called for them to be held accountable.” They added under “key points” that “President Trump has never issued an illegal order. The Fake News knew that, but ran with the story anyway.” The site features an "Offender Hall of Shame" that includes AP, Axios, CNN, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), and the Daily Beast. Below the "Hall of Shame," users are presented with claims from various outlets that the site categorizes under labels such as "Bias," "Lie," “Omission of Context,” "Malpractice" and "Left-wing Lunacy.” At the bottom, they pitched: “Sign up for ‘Offender Alerts’ delivered to your inbox.” The Washington Post gave this the headline “Trump ramps up reporter attacks with White House media bias tracker.” We have a rejoinder: “The Washington Post ramps up attacks on president.” Daily. Post media reporter Scott Nover described the page as “devoted to naming and shaming media outlets and reporters that publish stories it disagrees with.” It’s not just about disagreement. Yes, the president disagrees when you “report” he is a Nazi! To the Post, the best journalism is the most vicious anti-Trump journalism, trotting out a Post "spokesperson" to express: “The Washington Post is proud of its accurate, rigorous journalism." The White House puts the Post at the top of the fake-news "Leaderboard." Naturally, the Post found a leftist source to channel its view that Trump is a liar who hates the badly named “mainstream media.” Seth Stern, director of advocacy at the Freedom of the Press Foundation, said Trump has made it clear that his issue isn’t with media bias but with “journalists not flattering him and regurgitating his lies.” “People understand the obvious conflict inherent in a presidential administration appointing itself the arbiter of media bias, and I expect that after the initial wave of publicity, few Americans will be paying attention to this latest stunt,” Stern said. “The gimmick is wearing thin.” PS: When we were asked about this on Newsmax on Friday night, we endorsed it.
