The roads are becoming safer under the Trump administration. The Trump administration has announced over 7,000 trucker drivers have had their CDL’s withdrawn after they are unable to abide by new federal standards set in place. One of the main standards these CDL driver’s failed to abide by was having a proper level of English needed to understand signs on the road. MSN reported more on the Trump administration’s crackdown on illegal alien’s obtaining CDLs: Truckers and federal officials say relaxed CDL licensing amid a driver shortage, allowed some undocumented immigrants to obtain commercial driver’s licenses, creating highway safety concerns. Co-founder of American Truckers United, Harvey Beech, said, “Our American truck driver community, they have been complaining about the foreign invasion of their industry and the things they’re having to deal with on a daily basis.” Shannon Everett, another co-founder of American Truckers United, said, “This has really exploded over the last five years. There’s been an effort across the industry to reduce standards to solve a so-called driver shortage. In doing so, they relaxed the standards for these drivers’ licenses to be issued, but only in certain states.” Since May, DOT Secretary Sean Duffy says about 7,250 commercial drivers have been taken out of service after failing reinstated English-language proficiency standards aimed at shutting down a black market of low-wage foreign drivers who lack English skills. Duffy tied the enforcement to two recent deadly crashes involving drivers described as undocumented immigrants from India and said DOT testing showed one failed the English assessment. Duffy said, “California broke the law, and now three people are dead and two are hospitalized. These people deserve justice. On October 22, ICE lodged an immigration detainer for Jashanpreet Sing following his arrest by local authorities in San Bernadino County, California on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence. Dash camera footage captured the crash. Singh first entered the U.S. in 2022 through the southern border and was RELEASED into the country under the Biden administration. These tragedies follow a disturbing pattern of criminal illegal aliens driving commercial vehicles on American roads, directly threatening public safety.
