HUGE: Trump Admin Officially SUSPENDS All Immigration & Naturalization from 19 Countries — Here’s the Full List

It’s official: as President Trump promised, all immigration has been just been canceled from over a dozen third-world countries. The Department of Homeland Security just published a memo breaking down the new policy. New immigrants from nineteen countries are now banned from coming to America. Additionally, naturalization for immigrants currently in the process of becoming U.S. citizens has been halted. Here are the details: BREAKING: The Trump administration has OFFICIALLY halted all immigration and naturalization for immigrants from 19 third world countries This INCLUDES migrants from these nations who already passed the citizenship test, and those who came here since Jan. 20, 2021. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Policy Memorandum: Effective immediately, this memorandum directs U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) personnel to: (1) Place a hold on all Forms I-589 (Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal), regardless of the alien’s country of nationality, pending a comprehensive review; (2) Place a hold on pending benefit requests for aliens from countries listed in Presidential Proclamation (PP) 10949, Restricting the Entry of Foreign Nationals To Protect the United States From Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats, pending a comprehensive review, regardless of entry date; and (3) Conduct a comprehensive re-review of approved benefit requests for aliens from countries listed in PP 10949 who entered the United States on or after January 20, 2021. Here’s the full list of countries that the U.S. is no longer accepting immigrants from: Afghanistan Burma Chad Republic of the Congo Equatorial Guinea Eritrea Haiti Iran Libya Somalia Sudan Yemen Burundi Cuba Laos Sierra Leone Togo Turkmenistan Venezuela This is a huge move. But, after the ambush attack on the National Guard in D.C. last week, it’s a necessary measure to safeguard national security. The ban is extended to affect immigrants from those nineteen countries who have already passed the U.S. citizenship test. Their naturalization ceremonies have been cancelled! ABC News confirmed: Some naturalization ceremonies for people that were set to be sworn in as U.S. citizens from the 19 countries that have been put on the Trump administration’s new travel ban list have been placed on pause, according to multiple sources. Naturalization ceremonies scheduled for later this week were canceled for nationals from Venezuela, Iran, and Afghanistan, sources said. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services last week placed a pause on all immigration asylum cases pending a full review, following the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C. The pause applies to approvals and denials of all form types, including final adjudications of all cases for individuals from the 19 travel ban countries. An immigration attorney told ABC News that some people from those countries have also had their naturalization interviews cancelled without explanation. People who received notices that their naturalization ceremonies have been cancelled are already posting them on Reddit. Fox News reporter Bill Melugin shared a few of these posts: Reddit threads are popping up with people confused after receiving cancellation notices for their U.S. citizenship ceremonies. pic.twitter.com/H3DgMHbJ6Z — Bill Melugin (@BillMelugin_) December 3, 2025 It looks like the ban will remain in effect for at least as long as it takes for all immigrants who came here under the Biden administration to be re-vetted. It’s possible that the policy could be extended to pause immigration from even more countries. Per CBS News: In a statement to CBS News Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees USCIS, did not dispute the planned suspension of applications. The agency said “the Trump Administration is making every effort to ensure individuals becoming citizens are the best of the best.” “We will take no chances when the future of our nation is at stake,” DHS added. “The Trump Administration is reviewing all immigration benefits granted by the Biden administration to aliens from Countries of Concern.”… The policy said everyone who falls into those categories will now be subject to a “thorough re-review process, including a potential interview and, if necessary, a re-interview, to fully assess all national security and public safety threats along with any other related grounds of inadmissibility or ineligibility,” including because of suspected terrorism ties or criminality. The policy says the application pause will only be lifted when the USCIS director issues another memo. “Any requests to lift the hold due to litigation or other extraordinary circumstances must receive approval from the USCIS Director or Deputy Director,” the memo said. Earlier on Tuesday, CBS News reported Trump administration officials are considering expanding the travel ban to encompass more countries, in response to last week’s shooting. The total list of nations whose nationals could face travel and immigration restrictions on national security grounds could grow to around 30, U.S. officials said. Your thoughts?
