DO NOT Use A THERMAL SIGHT For Home Defense - The GUNTUBERS are LYING to YOU!

“In this video I want to show you why even a very clear thermal sight on a gun is NOT a home defense tool.” Some GunTubers are pushing micro thermals as ‘game‑changing’ for pistols used in home defense. “Even some big-name veterans are promoting them.” I’m not going to name any names. “But nobody is showing the real limitations — especially inside your home”. A Thermal can be used as a detection tool, but a Thermal is NOT a Positive Identification tool. Thermals cannot tell you who you’re shooting, but sometimes they can tell you what you are shooting. You can tell something is human, canine or feline, but the important details are left out. Is it a family member, no threat at all? Is it my dog or a wild coyote? Is it my cat or a wild bobcat? These are real and important questions. The reasons a pistol sized thermal optic like the Infitac FMP13 is not good for home defense are: Narrow field of view Slow processing Bloom from warm walls Loss of situational awareness - staring at the screen and loss of peripheral vision. You searching for the target iron sights disappear the thermal cannot ID a target white light is still required it slows shot placement You can conclude from this it is a tactically unsound decision to use a thermal like this for home defense. Stay with me in the video and I’ll show you the correct use and application for a cool little thermal sight like this.
