Lainey Wilson Adds A Little Bit Of Country Twang To Aerosmith And Yungblud’s Rockin’ Song, “Wild Woman”

A little rock, a little country… I’m here for it. Today, Lainey Wilson teamed up with two rockers in Aerosmith and Yungblud to reimagine their song, “Wild Woman.” In November, legendary rock band Aerosmith teamed up with current British rock phenom Yungblud (whose real name is Dominic Harrison) for an EP called One More Time that features four new songs and a new version of Aerosmith’s classic “Back in the Saddle.” In case you’re unfamiliar, and I imagine you might be if you’re reading this article, Yungblud is an Ozzy Osbourne prodigy who moved to London at age 15 to pursue music, and he blends genres like alternative rock, pop punk, and hip-hop for a very unique sound that also very much harkens back to rock icons like the aforementioned Ozzy. Admittedly, I love both Yungblud and Aerosmith’s music, so I think it’s actually really cool to see them working together, albeit it is a bit of a random trio in a sense that most of us probably would’ve never put together. And I think Lainey’s added country twang is just what this song needed… in the video below, Lainey and Yungblud joke about each other’s accents, so there’s a lot going on vocally, but it just works: View this post on Instagram Lainey has always dabbled some in this style of music (she used to post tons of rock covers), so I actually think this makes a lot of sense and I think it’s fun to see her do something really different. The comments on the YouTube video with Lainey were surprisingly nice, not because I think Laney didn’t do a great job, but because the internet is the internet, but I was curious to see how fans of Aerosmith and Yungblud would react to Lainey’s feature, because she’s certainly not the style of artist either one of them is used to working with. People seemed to really enjoy hearing Lainey on it, saying: “Lainey did the song justice. She was a perfect addition to the amazing voices of Yungblud and Aerosmith.” “Love the addition of Lainey!” “My yall’ternative heart yearned for this.” “This rhythm makes me feel good. I love Lainey’s voice.” “Great vibe and great collab!!” “3 fantastic voices!! WINNER, WOW!” “Never thought I’d see these three artists together, but I’m here for it” “Omg three of my favorite performers together and my mind is blown.” “Wowwwww! She just made it more amazing!’ “Real music, real artists, real soul. That’s music and not the new ai s***.” But this… we need to make this happen: “Need a collab with Luke Combs now.” Yes, we actually do need that, and I can’t even begin to imagine what it would sound like, but that’s what makes these kinds of things fun. While it looks like they weren’t actually in the studio together for this one, hopefully we’ll get to see a live performance of it eventually because I need to see these three onstage together.
