Jimmy Kimmel Makes Major Announcement Following Suspension

Despite a recent battle with the network, one TV host is here to stay. Jimmy Kimmel, the outspoken late-night television host, will remain on ABC’s air until May 2027 under a new contract. “Jimmy Kimmel is sticking around for another year, at least. The comedian has signed a one-year extension with ABC to continue hosting ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ It means that his deal, which was set to run through May 2026, will now run through May 2027,” according to Deadline. The network briefly pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live off the air on September 17 following controversial statements made in a monologue after Charlie Kirk’s assassination. When the show returned on September 23, Jimmy tearfully addressed viewers. “Erika Kirk forgave the man who shot her husband. She forgave him,” Jimmy said. “That is an example we should follow. If you believe in the teachings of Jesus as I do, there it was,” he continued. “That’s it. A selfless act of grace, forgiveness from a grieving widow.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jimmy Kimmel Live (@jimmykimmellive) Jimmy Kimmel Put Aside His Political Views During that Speech Jimmy Kimmel is a well-known critic of President Donald Trump.
