Man Convicted Of Threatening To K*ll Joe Biden Receives Sentence

A North Carolina man convicted of threatening to kill Joe Biden and a Secret Service agent was sentenced to 27 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. According to WPDE, Michael James Ferr, 31, made several “disturbing” social media comments towards Biden in January 2025. “This sentence makes one thing clear: threatening to murder the president of the United States or any federal agents sworn to protect our nation will bring swift and serious consequences,” said U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle, according to ABC11. “We do not tolerate violent statements that cross the line into criminal threats. Our office will continue to defend the safety of our public officials and stand firmly behind our law enforcement officers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect us every day,” Boyle continued. Ferr, of Wynmore Road, pleaded guilty to the charges of communicating threats on Aug. 19. “This case highlights the dangers our public officials face every day,” stated Meghan Dubea, USSS Resident Agent in Charge – Raleigh Resident Office. “Law enforcement and our judicial system must never waver, even when threatened with violence or facing danger. We are thankful for the Raleigh Police Department and for the United States Attorney’s Office for ensuring Michael Ferr was held accountable.” A U.S. Secret Service agent interviewed Ferr about his threats on Jan. 14. During the interview, Ferr threatened to kill the agent. In comparison, Ryan Routh, who was convicted of attempting to assassinate President Trump, is expected to receive a much lengthier sentence. The Center Square explained: In a more highly publicized case, Greensboro’s Ryan Routh – also former resident of Hawaii – faces sentencing on Thursday of next week in Florida. He was convicted Sept. 23 of a plot to kill Donald Trump, then a former president and presidential candidate, 12 months earlier while he golfed in West Palm Beach, Fla. Routh faces the possibility of life without parole. Compared to Ferr, his charges have more length. He was found guilty of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate; possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence; assaulting a federal officer; felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition; and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
