BREAKING: President Trump Files $10 BILLION Lawsuit Against Media Outlet
President Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for a doctored speech in its 2024 “Panorama” documentary.
According to Fox News, Trump sued the BBC for both defamation and a violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act for $5 billion each, seeking $10 billion total.
“The Telegraph disclosed in November that Panorama spliced together parts of an address given by Mr Trump on Jan 6, 2021 before some of his supporters attacked the US Capitol building,” The Telegraph wrote.
“The edit omitted Mr Trump’s calls for people to march ‘peacefully,'” the outlet added.
Journalist Nick Sortor compared the original footage and the “Panorama” clip:

The Telegraph has more:
A spokesman for Mr Trump’s legal team told The Telegraph: “The formerly respected and now disgraced BBC defamed President Trump by intentionally, maliciously, and deceptively doctoring his speech in a brazen attempt to interfere in the 2024 presidential election.
“The BBC has a long pattern of deceiving its audience in coverage of President Trump, all in service of its own Leftist political agenda.”
Mr Trump’s “powerhouse” lawsuit will hold the BBC accountable “for its defamation and reckless election interference just as he has held other fake news mainstream media responsible for their wrongdoing,” the spokesman added.
Speaking in the Oval Office earlier on Monday, Mr Trump said: “Literally, they put words in my mouth.”
He added: “They actually have me speaking with words that I never said, and they got caught because I believe somebody at BBC said this is so bad, it has to be reported. Let’s call [it] fake news.”
The BBC has faced massive criticism for the documentary, with critics labeling it incredibly misleading for not including Trump’s plea in his speech for supporters to protest peacefully.
Although the BBC formally apologized to Trump, it refused to pay financial compensation.
“While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim,” a prior statement read.
The BBC has formally apologized to President Trump for an airing a flagship investigative journalism program that deceptively edited his speech to portray him negatively. It aired days before the 2024 election. But the BBC says it won’t pay him any compensation.

Fox News shared further:
The documentary omitted Trump urging his supporters to protest “peacefully” and instead spliced two separate comments made nearly an hour apart, making him appear he was calling for violence.
“We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. And I’ll be there with you. And we fight — we fight like hell,” the documentary showed Trump saying.
In reality, Trump said, “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. And we’re gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.” It wasn’t until 54 minutes later that Trump called on his supporters to “fight like hell” for election integrity.
The New York Times referred to the ordeal as “one of the worst crises in its 103-year history” of the BBC. The blunder led to the resignations of BBC News CEO Deborah Turness and BBC director-general Tim Davie.
