ANTI-NEWS: ABC News Omits Radical Left-Wing Motives Behind Foiled New Year’s Eve Terror Plot

Federal law enforcement quickly and expeditiously dismantled an ongoing terror plot that would have wreaked chaos and destruction across Southern California, had it been allowed to go undetected. Viewers of ABC’s World News Tonight might have been left wondering whether there was even a plot to begin with, based on a complete lack of reporting as to motive. Watch the brief in its entirety as aired on World News Tonight on Monday, December 15th, 2025: ANTI-NEWS: ABC's World News Tonight practically Disneyfies its report on the SoCal NYE terror plot, reducing the far-left terrorists to "suspects" pic.twitter.com/wuGZznDtme — Jorge Bonilla (@BonillaJL) December 16, 2025 DAVID MUIR:  Back here in the US tonight, the Justice Department says it has foiled an alarming New Year’s Eve terror plot. They say four suspects were planning to fill backpacks with pipe bombs and detonate them at midnight on New Year’s Eve in five locations across Southern California. The FBI and Homeland Security officials have been warning the nation’s police to be on alert with the holidays approaching. That doesn’t really offer much of anything in the way of reporting. Perhaps David Muir should have consulted with…ABC News.   Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Monday that the FBI disrupted a "massive and horrific terror plot" by an anti-government extremist group allegedly planning a series of bombings against multiple targets in Orange County and Los Angeles, California, beginning on New Year's Eve.  Bondi said the plot by the so-called "Turtle Island Liberation Front," which she described in the announcement as a "far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government and anti-capitalist group," also "planned to target ICE agents and vehicles."  … The four people arrested, whom Davis said were "members of a radical faction of the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), a violent homegrown anti-government group," allegedly planned to plant backpacks containing improvised explosive devices "to be detonated at multiple locations in Southern California targeting U.S. companies." “Turtle Island” is said to be an indigenous name for North America. That’s just one of the many actual facts missing from the brief, most of which were available to Muir as the newscast was being put together. To not cite the facts mentioned in the ABC web report is unconscionable, given that the story is about a terror attack. Unconscionable, but also understandable. The attack as planned was detailed, intricate, specific, and devastating had it been carried out. Motives, therefore, have to be fully excised from TV reporting on the matter. Hence you hear no references to leftism, anti-capitalism, Palestine, anti-government, or anti-ICE motivations. Violent leftism is completely excised from ABC’s “reporting” on the foiled plot, a textbook example of anti-news.
