Debbie Rhoden shops at Kroger in Macon, Georgia, quite frequently. Keith Tidwell works in the produce department there. One morning about a year and a half ago, as Debbie drove through town, she noticed Keith walking and recognized him from the store. She decided to offer him a ride to work. What she found out changed both of their lives. “I said that looked like the young guy that works at Kroger, so I turned around, went back, and got him,” she told WMAZ. At the time, Keith’s only way to work was walking or biking five miles. But that all changed that fateful day. “I don’t really know her that much, but I decided to take a chance,” he said. Debbie Rhoden Regularly Drives Keith Tidwell to Work at Kroger Debbie Rhoden told WMAZ that beginning that day, she and Keith Tidwell became carpool buddies to his job at Kroger. She lost her son, Carlos, not long before she started picking Keith up for work. The rides help fill a void in her heart. “I think he would have wanted me to pick him up and take him to work, especially when he knew how far he has to walk at night,” she said. Keith enjoys the company. “It’s pretty nice. She’s nice to me, and I mean I learned that she has a brother,” he said. Fans loved seeing their favorite Kroger employee get much-needed help. “I absolutely love this!!!! Anytime, my family and I would see him walking pass our house, we would always give him a ride as well, he’s dedicated, because no matter the weather, he still makes it to work, and if you’ve ever seen him at Kroger, you’d see he’s a hard worker, he’s quiet ,but he’s a kind young man! I PRAY that he’s BLESSED beyond measures!!!!” Someone wrote. “Everytime we seen him walking we always stopped and picked him up and took him to krogers. Very nice man.
