Spectrum News shared further:
The social media posts claim the government is “attacking things that represent (America’s) young women’s safety” and the charged remarks suggest the “immoralities it sanctioned” could result in Kehoe or his family being harmed or killed. Other posts on the profile, immediately before and after the charged post on Dec. 14, showed a weapon being prepared (in a repost from another social media account) and a video clip from a TV/movie program starring Kevin Spacey shooting a person while saying “checkmate.”
After DDCC was notified of the online statements, it coordinated with the Missouri Analysis Center which led to identifying Daniel Mertz, 42, of St. Charles, MO, as the social media account’s owner.
On Dec. 19, Cole County Prosecuting Attorney Locke Thompson charged Mertz with two felonies and a nation-wide arrest warrant was issued.
