Back in November, rising star Avery Anna shared her take on the tune, and the internet was obsessed with it. Flashforward to today, and she’s been on a roll. For many country fans, they’ll be familiar with her appearances alongside Sam Barber on the pair’s breakout hit from last year, “Indigo,” which not only received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) but also scored the duo their first-ever placement on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #40. While “Indigo” might have put her on the map, she’s been able to keep up her following as a solo artist and is nothing short of a force to be reckoned with. Avery Anna has over 2 million followers on TikTok and nearly 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify. So, in short, if you found Anna from “Indigo” or her viral “No More Tears” cover, there is a lot more to discover from the Arizona native. But after receiving so much positive feedback from her viral Ozzy Osbourne tribute, she’s gifting fans with a streamable version of the cover. The cover came from a show during Anna’s most recent tour, the Let Go Letters Tour, and packs a punch the same way her TikTok clip does. While she does not specify which show this is from, it sounds like there is a good chance it’s the same performance as in her TikTok footage. If you’ve listened to any other tunes from Anna’s catalog, “No More Tears” is shocking in the best way possible. He truly honors the gritty rock-and-roll sound of the late rock legend, and it’s a hard shift from her airy, mostly acoustic ballads. Anna blew this cover out of the water, hitting some impressive notes complete with a signature metal rasp. All in all, Anna delivered a knock-out performance that I am certain Ozzy would be proud of.
