I’m willing to bet that this is the funniest thing you will see all day. Today, President Trump once again gave us his impression of a ‘transgender’ man in a women’s weightlifting competition. He prefaced by saying that Melania really hates when he does this — before doing it anyway! The result was pure hilarity. Let’s be honest, he can give most professional comedians a run for their money. The best comedy points at truth, and President Trump is a pro when it comes to pointing out uncomfortable or ridiculous realities — like men competing in women’s sports — in a humorous way. Meanwhile, Melania Trump is all grace and class. She balances out her husband very well. But, I’m sorry, President Trump’s remark about her not knowing the full history of FDR in reference to dancing had me cracking up. In case you don’t know, Reuters provided some context: “I said everybody wants me to dance,” Trump told the lawmakers, recounting what he said was a conversation with his ​wife. “‘Darling, it’s not presidential.’ She actually said, ‘Could you imagine FDR dancing?’ ‌She said that to me.” “I said there’s a long history that perhaps she doesn’t know, because he was an elegant fellow, even as a Democrat,” Trump said. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, known as FDR, was paralyzed from the waist down due to polio but rarely photographed in a ⁠wheelchair while president. Trump said the first lady ​also did not like how he sometimes ​pretends to lift weights during his speeches to dramatize his efforts to prevent transgender people from competing in women’s ‍weightlifting competitions. Apologies to Melania, but I’m with President Trump on this. We love his dancing and those lighter moments where his comedic prowess shines.
