Turning Point Action Makes Endorsement In Gubernatorial Race

Turning Point Action, the political advocacy arm of Turning Point USA, has endorsed Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) in the Florida gubernatorial election. The endorsement gives Donalds another boost heading into the GOP primary. The Florida Republican already has President Trump’s endorsement. “I’m honored to announce I’ve earned the endorsement of @TPAction_,” Donalds said. “Charlie Kirk’s legacy lives on through this incredible organization, and I’m grateful to have their support in my campaign for Governor of Florida. Together, we will take the Sunshine State to the NEXT LEVEL,” he continued. I’m honored to announce I’ve earned the endorsement of @TPAction_. Ron DeSantis. Kirk endorsed Donalds weeks later, saying, “We’re behind you 100%,” in a podcast interview with the lawmaker. Donalds has outraised other declared Republican candidates by a wide margin, raising more than $40 million, underscoring his early dominance in fundraising. Recent polling shows Donalds holding a commanding lead in the GOP primary. In a survey of likely Republican primary voters conducted in early January, Donalds led all tested ballot matchups, drawing roughly 47% support to just 5% for Azoria CEO James Fishback and 4% for former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner. The GOP primary got another contender this week as Florida Lt. Gov. Jay Collins announced his candidacy. DeSantis Ally Launches Bid For Florida Governor “I’m running for Governor because leadership is forged under pressure, not in soundbites. I served over 23 years in the United States military, mainly as a Green Beret, where accountability is real, decisions have consequences, and service comes before self,” Collins said. “That experience shaped how I lead and why I believe public office is a public trust,” he added. The organization is also known for mobilizing conservative voters, particularly younger Republicans, and has played an active role in primary contests nationwide. The endorsement also reflects Donalds’ emphasis on issues such as school choice, parental rights and economic conservatism, priorities long championed by both Trump and Kirk. The Republican primary is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2026, with the general election on Nov. 3, 2026.
