Danish Foreign Minister Announces New Working Group To “Find a Common Way Forward” On Greenland

After extremely high-level talks today at the White House between Denmark, Greenland and the USA, it appears that a deal may be reached after all. Listen to the Danish Foreign Minister stating he will be forming a new working group with the goal of “finding a common way forward”: NOW – Danish Foreign Minister to work with the U.S. to “find a common way forward” on Greenland. pic.twitter.com/beHvPbnI8j — Disclose.tv (@disclosetv) January 14, 2026 TRANSCRIPT: We therefore still have a fundamental disagreement, but we also agree to disagree. And therefore, we will, however, continue to talk. We have decided to form a high-level working group to explore if we can find a common way forward. The group, in our view, should focus on how to address the American security concerns, while at the same time, respecting the red lines of the Kingdom of Denmark. We expect that such a group will meet for a first time within a matter of weeks. And then I will pass the floor to my colleague from Greenland, Vivian Westbolt. Ok, a few thoughts…. This kind of reminds me of Scott Adams yesterday saying he is not a believer in Jesus Christ, but….I’ve got nothing to lose so let’s give it a try! Ok, which is it? That’s how this statement feels to me. If I had to decode it, I would say the TRUE message here is: “Okay, we will make a deal but sweeten the offer.” That’s how I think this ends. Because I do know one thing for certain, and that is President Trump has ZERO interest in forming a working group with a stated goal that does not include the immediate and full transfer of ownership of Greenland to the USA.
