Michelle Obama is now encouraging people to boycott clothing businesses owned by white people — or, at least, try their best to. During a recent episode of her podcast, Obama said that she tries to “make it a point” to buy clothes from black-owned brands and that you should, too! She also says we should seriously “think” about which race owns the clothing brand before buying. I seriously can’t think of a time when I’ve thought about the race of the person who owns the brand of anything I’m about to buy. It’s just not a factor.
