Extreme Temps Have Transformed Lake Michigan Into a Stunning Work of Art
Mother Nature appears to be feeling pretty wicked right about now. A large portion of the United States is preparing for severe winter weather. Even southern states that hardly ever see snow could get a taste of what Old Man Winter can do. Up in the northern part of the country, they’ve been dealing with snow, ice, and bitter cold temperatures for months. The increasingly cold weather has caused some incredibly beautiful side effects around bodies of water. Lighthouses, bridges, and statues near Lake Michigan became covered in ice like something straight out of a movie.

The Ice on Lake Michigan Looks Incredible
AccuWeather shared a video from @timelessaerialphotography on Instagram of the lake showing how the temperatures have totally changed the landscape.
“These lighthouses along Lake Michigan have transformed into stunning ice sculptures,” the post explained.
The videos look magical, and many people had trouble believing they were even real.
“My distrust of AI made me second-guess all of this,” someone admitted.
“As someone born and raised in CA, I cannot understand for the life of me why anyone would want to live in that region lol. Sounds like a lot of extra work… and coats,” a west coast resident wrote.
“This looks like scenes from the movie ‘The day after tomorrow’…which apparently is the kind of storm we are expected to get,” another person wrote.
One resident knows the Lake Michigan ice all too well, and they know just what to do when this kind of severe weather hits.
“Michigan here! It’s friggen dang cold, yep it’s beautiful but this weekend we are talking-15/-25 below 0 I’m holed up in my cave for sure making some soup!” They wrote.
