The 2026 awards show season is underway, and many of our favorite musicians took home Grammy Awards on February 1. These shows honor artists and give them a chance to thank their fans for helping them make their dreams come true. Sometimes, these shows become overrun with political discourse, which can turn off many viewers. After winning a Grammy for best contemporary country album, Jelly Roll took time to reflect on his relationship with Jesus. He became choked up as he spoke, revealing how his life changed dramatically when he opened his heart to faith. Jelly Roll Made a Bold Statement About Jesus While politics can be polarizing, so can discussions of faith. But at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Jelly Roll focused on Jesus. His acceptance speech resonated deeply with many of his fans. He became emotional as he dedicated the award to his wife, Bunnie XO. “I would never have changed my life without you. I’d have ended up dead or in jail,” Jelly Roll said. “I would have killed myself if it wasn’t for you and Jesus.” Jelly Roll recently dropped a whopping 300 pounds as part of his dedication to completely overhauling his life and health. He spoke about “a time in my life that I was broken. That’s why I wrote this album. I didn’t think I had a chance. Y’all, there were days I thought the darkest things. I was a horrible human.” But Jelly Roll said his faith in Jesus changed everything, and he wanted others to open their own hearts to that kind of shift. “Jesus is not owned by one political party,” Jelly Roll announced. “Jesus is not owned by a music label; Jesus is Jesus.
