BIAS BY ZO-MISSION: Nets Hide Mamdani’s Deadly Snowstorm Mismanagement
Viewers of the Elitist Media got a steady diet of Zohran Mamdani in the runup to the New York City mayoral election. The hype machine ran in overdrive, as is often the case for charismatic young socialists running for office in New York City. Mamdani’s promoters have gone silent, though, as Mamdani appears to have botched his first big test as mayor.
Per The New York Post:
The death toll from the frigid winter weather in New York City has risen to 16, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said Monday — as the blowback over his handling of the extended killer cold snap intensifies.
Hizzoner said at an unrelated press conference that 13 people died from hypothermia and another three died of overdoses outside since the freezing temps descended on the city Jan. 19.
“Each of these lives lost is a tragedy,” Mamdani said. “My heart was with the families of those mourning their loved ones.
Mamdani reversed a policy established by his predecessor, Mayor Eric Adams, that compelled the relocation of homeless individuals found on the streets into shelters. There is great concern that more may die from exposure as this cold blast continues.
The last mention of the dead was a passing mention on ABC’s World News Tonight on January 25th, 2026:
On the evening news, no mention of the 16 dead, mountains of gray slush and stacks of garbage in NYC, resulting from Mayor Mamdani's botched snowstorm response. Last mention 1/25 on ABC World News Tonight. pic.twitter.com/Y29GAEGmuU

More than 2500 city sanitation workers working around the clock to clear the streets. Mayor Mamdani telling New Yorkers to stay home, and offering his deepest condolences to the families of the five people found dead outside. Mamdani saying their deaths are being investigated.
That’s it. Nothing since, and the death toll is now up to 16.
Additionally, delayed snow removal has led to a massive garbage pileup in the city. Per the Post:
Frustrated New Yorkers are raising a stink over mountains of trash piling up on city streets as “limited” collection drags on a week after a massive winter storm dumped more than a foot of snow.
The unsavory sights were clear as day on Saturday night when a Post reporter spotted heaps of garbage bags and cardboard boxes littering the sidewalks in several neighborhoods, thanks to the Department of Sanitation playing catch-up since the storm.
The garbage, of course, attracts rats and other vermin. And it is stacking high all over the city, EXCEPT…near Gracie Mansion.
The Big Three network newscasts are all based out of New York, and they often pick up local stories. Their collective omission of Mamdani’s botched storm response is all the more jarring. More so given that they all jumped on his hype train. Now they’re stuck and can’t jump off, having realized that the warm embrace of collectivism won’t plow the snow or pick up the garbage.
