BREAKING: Ed Martin REMOVED from Key Role at Department of Justice
This just in: staunch Trump ally and no-nonsense lawyer Ed Martin has been stripped of his leading role at the Department of Justice.
He is no longer the head of the DOJ’s Weaponization group — one of the two roles President Trump appointed him to.
Here are the details:
ALERT: Ed Martin has been removed from his role as the head of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Weaponization Working Group
Trump Admin has failed in its efforts to criminally prosecute James Comey and Letitia James

REPORT
Ed Martin has no plans to leave the DOJ, but he is no longer leading the weaponization working group.
Several MAGA DOJ officials are being targeted internally at the DOJ.
There’s an effort to push many out.
Martin not running this is a major blow to MAGA.

Ed Martin’s page on the DOJ website now has him listed only as “Pardon Attorney”:
Recall that Ed Martin’s nomination as U.S. Attorney for D.C. was de-railed by RINOs in the Senate.
When that fell through, President Trump appointed Ed Martin to the DOJ. He intentionally made Martin both Pardon Attorney and the director of the Weaponization Working Group.
The latter role — the one he’s now been removed from — revolved around investigating key cases involving weaponization of the justice system, like Jack Smith’s witch hunt against President Trump and the J6 political persecution.
NBC News provided more background:
Martin had been serving as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, but the longtime right-wing activist faced opposition from Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., a key member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Instead, President Donald Trump made Martin the pardon attorney and director of the “weaponization working group” established by Attorney General Pam Bondi in response to one of the president’s executive orders. Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro was eventually named U.S. attorney for D.C.
The working group is seeking to examine work including that of former special counsel Jack Smith; any federal cooperation with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who prosecuted Trump’s hush money case; the Justice Department’s handling of cases related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack; and criminal prosecutions of anti-abortion activists, among other issues.
An advocate for those arrested following the riot at the Capitol, Martin previously said he planned to “name” and “shame” individuals the department could not formally charge with crimes, a major departure from long-standing Justice Department policy.
MSNOW’s Ken Dilanian claims that there was internal strife between Martin and Deputy AG Todd Blanche:

The move comes after a long-standing feud between Martin and Deputy Attorney General Todd, Blanche, who loathes Martin, according to the sources.
Justice Department spokesman Chad Martin did not comment directly on @EagleEdMartin
’s fall from grace, but said in a statement:
“President Trump appointed Ed Martin as Pardon Attorney and Ed continues to a great job in that role.”
However, a statement from the DOJ refused to comment on why Ed Martin was removed from the Weaponization group role.
The DOJ did confirm that Ed Martin will stay on as Pardon Attorney.
Per Fox News:
A DOJ spokesperson confirmed to Fox News on Monday that Martin had been removed from the working group, though it was not immediately clear why.
“President Trump appointed Ed Martin as Pardon Attorney and Ed continues to do a great job in that role,” a DOJ spokesperson said.
So now, the big question is: why?
Why has someone as hardcore MAGA as Ed Martin just been ousted as the leader of the group intended to look into weaponization of the justice system?
Are there bad actors in the Trump DOJ working to undermine the president?
This has to be asked:
DNI Tulsi Gabbard and Attorney Ed Martin are facing the consequences of being good guys in a government of corruption.
The problem is, and it must be asked….
How is it that under the Trump Admin there are people openly trying to take down Tulsi (inside government) and a DOJ…

Sounds like the deep state is alive and well just operating on a different side.
Or, on the flip side: could this be the precursor to a possible promotion?
Question: Has the Weaponization committee done its job? The Grand Juries are stood up and are now proceeding.
Is this a transition to a new phase?

I’m hoping the @EagleEdMartin will be named as a Special Prosecutor

Steve Bannon shared some thoughts:
Bannon: The Reason They’re After People Like Ed Martin Is Because Ed Martin Is A Fighter. Tulsi Gabbard Is A Fighter. They Single Out And Target The People That Are The Biggest Fighters. @TulsiGabbard @EagleEdMartin pic.twitter.com/NhQZESiWdM
