Lainey Wilson Reveals Surprisingly Simple Wedding Plans

Keeping it simple… and honestly, with how crazy her life and career is, doing a more simple wedding sounds like the way to go. Lainey Wilson got engaged to her now-fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges last year. She shared some gorgeous photos of the day on Instagram when it happened at George Jones’ previous estate back in February of 2025: View this post on Instagram Duck was a four-year starter at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Steelers in 2019. He was named the starter during the 2019 season when Mason Rudolph went down with an injury, going 3-3 as a starting quarterback before being waived by the Steelers and signed to the practice squad prior to the 2020 season. They dated for about four years before getting engaged, and during a party celebrating her radio hit “4X4XU,” Lainey previously shared details about the proposal that happened at the stunning George Jones estate the week after the Super Bowl. She talked some last year about how she really hadn’t planned that much because of her busy schedule, though she did say at the CMA Awards that the wedding was happening in 2026… but it sounds like there’s still a ways to go. Not long ago, Lainey said that Duck asked her if the wedding was still happening because not many plans have been made, but it sounds like it’s not going to get too elaborate considering what Lainey said recently while doing press for the Grammys. During interview with People, she says it’s going to be focused on “what it’s supposed to be about,” with her closest family in attendance to witness the special day. She also said that she wants good food and music, and of course, considering she’s a Louisiana native, there will be some Cajun flare: “Well, first of all, I just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about. I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food. I’m from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture.” I’m sure she’ll have some help as far as the planning of the event itself goes, but I’m honestly most looking forward to seeing what she wears… I have no doubt it will be daring and likely not super traditional… heck, I wouldn’t even be surprised to see her strut down the aisle in some bell bottoms. For now, though, in the early part of 2026, Lainey has quite a few Australian tour dates, as well as a few summer festival dates later this year.
