New Super Bowl Ad Rewrites the Ending of Iconic 90s Flick
When Jurassic Park premiered in 1993, we were both terrified and mesmerized by the idea of bringing dinosaurs back to life. The movie spawned an extremely successful franchise that now includes six films, toys, clothing, and endless licensing. This year, Xfinity decided to partner with the Jurassic folks for a Super Bowl commercial that will give you all those 1990s feels. The ad brings back original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. While it’s been more than 30 years, you’d never know by the way the trio looks, or their onscreen chemistry.
The “Jurassic Park” Spot Has All the Familiar Elements
Xfinity starts the spot with Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum sitting in a dark car trying to get into Jurassic Park. Of course, there’s a complication, and we see footage from the original movie and Samuel L. Jackson explaining he can’t get Jurassic Park back online. Luckily, Xfinity saves the day. We then see a relieved Laura Dern say, “Guys, that could have been bad.”
Instead of the dinosaurs escaping, Xfinity kept them secure and Jurassic Park a sweet little place to visit. It’s a very clever spot and an ode to those who love to wonder what could have happened.
People loved the spot for everything it is.
“Another great example of AI done right in service to the creative. Hence all the positive reactions and no ‘slop’ comments,” someone shared on X.
“no way they brought the OG crew back thats epic as hell,” another fan shared.
“This is the Jurassic Park sequel we actually wanted Sam, Laura & Jeff looking 1993 fresh while the new movies keep aging like milk. Xfinity just won the Super Bowl ads early,” a fan declared.
We love nostalgia, and Xfinity hit the nail on the head. Nice work.
