49 Winchester Announces New Album ‘Change Of Plans,’ Release New Single “Pardon Me”
The next era of 49 Winchester is here. This is a great new music Friday because not only are we getting an album announcement, but we are also getting a new single. 49 Winchester fans knew that something was brewing on the horizon, and now, fans know what the Castlewood, Virginia band has in store for them.
Today, February 6, 49 Winchester announced their forthcoming studio record, Change Of Plans, out everywhere on May 15.
As 2025 came to a close, 49 Winchester announced they had signed with MCA Records through its Lucille Records imprint, which is run by producer extraordinaire Dave Cobb, the Chief Creative Officer. No one has put in more work than they have to get to this point, and frontman Isaac Gibson says they’re “thrilled” to be working with Cobb:
“We’re thrilled to be joining the MCA and Lucille family. Working with Dave Cobb is a dream, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear the new music we’re creating together.”
Chase Chafin, 49 Winchester bassist and co-founder, thanked the fans for all of their support in helping get to this point:
“So grateful to the fans and team who helped us build this to where it is today. We couldn’t be more excited for MCA to be the home of future 49 Winchester releases, and to share this next chapter with those who made it possible.”
If you’ve been a fan of 49 since their early days, then you know watching their evolution has been nothing short of extraordinary. They are true road dogs and lyrical wordsmiths, and they have cultivated a fanbase that is loyal to the bone. And despite how popular they have gotten, they have never strayed far from what makes 49 Winchester… well, 49 Winchester.
Since inking with MCA Records, Change of Plans will be the first project Cobb has produced for 49 Winchester. Fans already got a peek of what’s in store for this next chapter of music with their soulful take on Black Sabbath’s “Changes,” and now they are gifting fans a new original tune titled “Pardon Me.”
Penned by frontman Isaac Gibson, the tune is a slower-paced ballad that focuses on the importance of living in the moment. The tune highlights the band’s vulnerability and growth, weighing the emotional toll this career can take. Despite those challenges, with the right outlook and people by your side, you feel truly free in this space.
“And grateful ain’t the word to do it justice
I have found the one made for me
And I am through with my tireless, endless searching
I have found the place where I am free”
This new chapter of 49 Winchester is off to a hot start, and I am sure that we will get more introspective ballads along with their infamous Appalachian barn burner tunes on Change of Plans. The countdown to May 15 starts now.
Turn it all the way up.
While you’re here, also fire up “Changes.”
