“Leave Iran Now” – State Department Tells American Citizens
The State Department on Friday warned American citizens to “leave Iran now.”
“Increased security measures, road closures, public transportation disruptions, and internet blockages are ongoing. The Government of Iran continues to restrict access to mobile, landline, and national internet networks. Airlines continue to limit or cancel flights to and from Iran,” a notice read.
“U.S. citizens should expect continued internet outages, plan alternative means of communication, and, if safe to do so, consider departing Iran by land to Armenia or Türkiye,” it continued.
The notice listed the following actions to take:
Leave Iran now. Have a plan for departing Iran that does not rely on U.S. government help.
Flight cancellations and disruptions are possible with little warning. Check directly with your airlines for updates.
If you cannot leave, find a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.
Avoid demonstrations, keep a low profile, and stay aware of your surroundings.
Monitor local media for breaking news. Be prepared to adjust your plans.
Keep your phone charged and maintain communication with family and friends to inform them of your status.

USA TODAY shared further:
It comes as talks between Iran and the Trump administration kicked off in the Persian Gulf emirate of Oman – the first discussion between the two sides since the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities in June.
Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy, and Jared Kushner, his son-in-law, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, who called the meeting a “good start” and said the talks would continue, according to Reuters.
Trump said the June airstrikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but the administration now says that it wants Iran to entirely freeze its nuclear program and get rid of any remaining enriched uranium it holds. Iran claims its nuclear program is not aimed at building a nuclear weapon.
The State Department warning follows reports of a U.S. fighter jet shooting down an Iranian drone as it approached the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea.
BREAKING: U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln Attacked By Kamikaze Drone-Missile
ABC News has more:
Later in the day, a Navy destroyer came to the assistance of a U.S.-flagged tanker that was harassed by multiple Iranian small boats as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.
The drone was shot down by a Navy F-35C fighter jet from the carrier as it "aggressively approached" the Lincoln with "unclear intent," Central Command said.
Iran's Shahed drones are long-range, one-way attack drones capable of carrying more than 100 pounds of explosives. Russia has used large numbers of them to carry out destructive long-range attacks inside of Ukraine.
In the later incident on Tuesday, a U.S. Navy destroyer and U.S. Air Force aircraft came to the assistance of a U.S.-flagged, U.S.-crewed tanker that was harassed by Iranian small boats and a drone as it transited through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Central Command (CENTCOM).
The Lincoln was in the Arabian Sea approximately 500 miles from Iran's southern coast when an Iranian Shahed-139 drone "unnecessarily maneuvered toward the ship," CENTCOM said in a statement.
