Grand Jury Indicts Actor On Child S*x Abuse Charges
A New Mexico grand jury on Friday indicted actor Timothy Busfield on child sex abuse charges.
He was indicted on four charges of criminal sexual contact of a child.
“As with all criminal proceedings, Mr. Busfield is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. This case will proceed through the judicial process and is expected to move forward to trial,” Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman said.
“The case will be prosecuted by the Special Victims Unit of the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office. District Attorney Sam Bregman emphasized that protecting children remains a top priority for his office,” he added.

KRQE has more:
Busfield is accused of inappropriately touching two boys on the set of “The Cleaning Lady” while filming in Albuquerque.
According to a criminal complaint, one of the children told a forensic child interviewer that Busfield had touched him in his “private areas” while on set when he was seven years old. He said it happened five or six times between sets. The boy told the interviewer that it had happened a second time when he was eight years old, and that it happened three or four times. A second child told investigators that Busfield had touched him as well, but did not say that it was in the same areas.
In early January, an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield, and he later turned himself in. Before doing so, Busfield also spoke out in a recorded video, calling the allegations a lie.
“I’m gonna confront these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies and I did not do anything to those little boys and I’m gonna fight it,” Busfield said.
“I’m gonna fight it with a great team, and I’m gonna be exonerated, I know I am, because this is all so wrong and all lies,” he added.

NBC News shared further:
Busfield’s attorneys have said the allegations are a part of a revenge plot manufactured by the boys’ parents after the children lost their roles in “The Cleaning Lady.”
During a detention hearing last month, Bernalillo County Deputy District Attorney Savannah Brandenburg-Koch described the children’s disclosures of alleged abuse to a therapist and doctor as specific, detailed and “not exaggerated.”
During the hearing, the show’s director of photography testified that he saw no inappropriate contact between Busfield and the children. Busfield’s lawyers cited an independent probe into the allegations commissioned by Warner Bros., which co-produced the show, that found no evidence to corroborate the allegations.
Brandenburg-Koch argued during the hearing that the abuse allegations were part of a pattern and cited past allegations of inappropriate touching and sexual assault made against Busfield by other women and a teenager.
Busfield’s attorneys denied those allegations, which have not resulted in criminal charges. During last month’s hearing, the judge overseeing the case said he put little weight in those accusations because they have not been vetted.
The judge, David A. Murphy, found that Busfield does not pose a danger to the community and ordered him released on his own recognizance while he awaits trial.
