Is That Riley Green? Fans Spot The Country Star In First Trailer For ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff, ‘Marshals’
Who do we have here? It looks a lot like Riley Green… we’re under a month from the premiere date of the new Kayce Dutton-focused series, Marshals, airing on CBS. It’s a continuation of his story beyond Yellowstone, and the new show starring Luke Grimes should provide fans with everything they want and more in terms of having him back on your screen for an action-packed show.
The synopsis of the show’s first season, which will consist of 13-episodes seemingly finds Kayce Dutton got back to his violent ways because of a devastating loss that he suffered:
“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
Just in case you haven’t seen any of the trailers… all signs are pointing towards Kayce Dutton joining the U.S. Marshals because he loses his wife, Monica (played by Kelsey Asbille), which many Yellowstone fans are probably happy about.
And in the Season One trailer that has already been released, eagle-eyed fans in the comments section of YouTube pointed out that it sure looks like Riley Green in a quick shot, where you see Kayce, along with several others, hanging out around a campfire while a man with a very familiar mustache plays guitar. He has a hat on, so you never actually see his eyes or full face, but considering he’s sitting there with a guitar, I’d say there’s a very high likelihood it’s Riley.
The first episode of the show will air on Sunday, March 1st on CBS, and no announcements have been made about if Riley is actually in it, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising considering Riley has talked a lot recently about reading scripts and wanting to get into acting:
“We’ve actually kinda gone down that road a little bit. I’ve read for a couple of shows here lately. Not that I have a lot of time for it, but I think it is something that I would enjoy, and also something I think could help my music career.”
After Green said that he could see himself heading to the big screen, he used Lainey Wilson’s Yellowstone appearance as a prime example of how it helped the genre of country music as well as her own career.
“Doing ‘Yellowstone’ was a great launching pad for Lainey… and the country and western thing is becoming so popular through those shows that it’s really just such a great tie-in. I’m just glad that it’s helping out country music.”
Lainey ended up with a small part on the show, so it could end up being something more substantial like that, but bands like Whiskey Myers and Turnpike Troubadours have had shorter cameos, where they show up strictly to play some music, so if it is Riley in the trailer, it could always be something like that too.
Riley already has a lot on his schedule for 2026, which includes an extensive headlining tour, and he’s hinted that new music is coming too, so it would be a lot, but he’s really having a huge moment with his career, and his face was made for the camera, so I think it would be really cool to see what kind of acting chops he has.
See what you think, though, around the 1:39 mark… maybe they’ll make some sort of announcement soon, but if not, we’ll just have to wait until the first of March to see what happens:
