Ella Langley Is Envious Of The Girl Who Has It All Put Together In Soulful New Single “Be Her”

This girl has it all together… and Ella Langley is taking notice. Today, Ella released the next song from her highly-anticipated sophomore album Dandelion called “Be Her,” which finds her singing about he perfect woman who has everything figured out. Written by Ella along with HARDY, Smith Ahnquist and Jordan Schmidt, the song finds Ella looking inward as she examines the kind of woman she wants to be, and what it might take to get there. She is seeking simplicity over drama, clearly longing to be comfortable in her own skin, and Ella’s co-writer Hardy says he knew it would be a hit from the very beginning, and it only took them 30 minutes to write because they were really onto something quickly: “I knew ‘Be Her’ was a hit the second we started writing it. It’s one of those songs that basically wrote itself. We were done in 30 minutes. Those are always the best ones. It’s so fun to watch Ella and the rocket ship that she’s on, and I’m just happy to be a part of it.” I think many of us have probably struggled with this kind of envy, and so I give props to Ella for putting it out there and being so honest about it: “She knows being rich is just a state of mind She stays talking to Jesus, calls her mama all the time She don’t over embellish, if she says it, then it’s true I don’t mean to sound jealous, but what could I do ’cause I just wanna be her so bad, it hurts so bad, it hurts so I just wanna be her, I just wanna be her I just wanna be her so bad, it hurts so bad, it hurts so I just wanna be her, I just wanna be her Don’t want all this drama, give me something real Trade a mile high to walk one in her heels Take all my money, everything I have I just wanna be her, I just wanna be her so bad It hurts so bad” Like I said in a previous post, it sounds like we could all use a little advice from this supreme being… The production and sound on this one is a bit different for, and a little funky, but I enjoy hearing a different side of her and so far there’s already been a decent amount of variety in just the several previously-released tracklist with the other songs we’ve heard in her hit “Choosin’ Texas” as well as the title track. Dandelion is slated for release on April 10th, and Ella produced the album alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West, and it’s easily one of the most highly-anticipated projects announced this year. I think we’re in for something really different from her debut Hungover, and I’m looking forward to hearing it. Listen to “Be Her” here: Ella previously said she wanted the album to feel like “the best kind of Sunday afternoon,” and the record really serves as a love letter to her childhood memories and that feeling of nostalgia and freedom: “This record has so much growth in it. I’ve never poured more of myself into a project, into a song, into an idea, and it’s fallen out so beautifully. It’s about learning yourself, making mistakes, and realizing that it’s all just part of life. I want this record to be something that fans can relate to, but also something they want to get up and dance to at the same time. To me, this record feels like fireflies in the summertime. It feels like windows down on a red dirt road. It feels like the best kind of Sunday afternoon. It feels like those days I remember as a kid where it felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day. This record is really a love letter to that.” Ella of course put out her debut album Hungover in the summer of 2024, which featured her smash hit, award-winning song with Riley Green “You Look Like You Love Me.” Dandelion is set for release on April 10th, and Ella will hit the road on her subsequent tour named for the record in May. “Dandelion” The Dandelion Tour Dates 5/7/2026 Toledo, OH Huntington Center (+,&) 5/8/2026 St. Louis, MO Chaifetz Arena (+,&) 5/14/2026 Estero, FL Hertz Arena (@, &) 5/15/2026 Savannah, GA Enmarket Arena (@, &) 6/18/2026 Oklahoma City, OK Zoo Amphitheatre (+,&) 6/19/2026 Independence, MO Cable Dahmer Arena (+,&) 6/25/2026 Salem, VA Salem Civic Center (+,&) 6/26/2026 Wilmington, NC Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park (+,&) 7/23/2026 Pikeville, KY Appalachian Wireless Arena (#, %) 7/24/2026 Cary, NC Koka Booth Amphitheatre (#, %) 7/25/2026 North Charleston, SC North Charleston Coliseum (#, %) 7/30/2026 Gilford, NH BankNH Pavilion (@, %) 7/31/2026 Canandaigua, NY CMAC (@, %) 8/13/2026 Austin, TX Moody Center (#, &) 8/14/2026 Corpus Christi, TX Hilliard Center (#, &) 8/15/2026 Fort Worth, TX Dickies Arena (#, &) @ Kameron Marlowe + Dylan Marlowe # Kaitlin Butts & Gabriella Rose % Laci Kaye BoothThe post Ella Langley Is Envious Of The Girl Who Has It All Put Together In Soulful New Single “Be Her” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
