15 Country Songs Miranda Lambert Wrote For Other Artists That You Might Not Have Realized
Other than Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert has remained what can only be described as the female country artist of the current generation. With 33 ACM Awards, 14 CMA Awards, three Grammys, 11 #1 singles and seven #1 albums, the Texas native has build a legacy few artists in the genre, let alone female artists, can compete with.
Beyond all the hit singles and albums, Lambert has also proven herself to be one of the premier songwriters both in the mainstream and abroad over the past two decades. Thanks to penning classics such as “Heart Like Mine,” “Tin Man” and “Vice” along with some severely underrated tracks like “Carousel,” “In His Arms” and “Pushin’ Time,” back in August, she was named as one of the newest members of the Texas Songwriters Hall Of Fame, alongside the King himself, George Strait, Keith Gattis and Don Cook.
Recently, Lambert experienced the most success of her career from a pure songwriting perspective thanks to the phenomenon that is Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.” Written by Lambert, Langley, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor, the track has become nothing short of a cultural phenomenon at this point, going #1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 and allowing Langley to become just the seventh female artist IN HISTORY to go #1 on the Hot 100 with a country song.
Given that Lambert both wrote and produced “Choosin’ Texas” (in addition to producing the entirety of Langley’s upcoming album, Dandelion), many are just now finding out that the “The House That Built Me” singer actually has a long history of penning songs for different artists throughout her career. Famously, she also co-wrote Morgan Wallen’s #1 hit, “Thought You Should Know.”
However, she’s also written a plethora of different tracks over the years, ranging from the likes of Jelly Roll and Jon Pardi to Parker McCollum and Chris Stapleton. Without further ado, here are 15 songs you may not have known Miranda Lambert wrote for other artists.
