Morgan Wallen Extends His Lead As Artist With The Most Weeks At #1 On Country Albums Chart, ‘I’m The Problem’ Returns To Top Spot
He’s no stranger to breaking records, that’s for sure. In 2025, Morgan Wallen’s hit album I’m The Problem found him at the top of almost any list you can think of…
He was iHeart Radio’s Top Country Artist of 2025, and he also scored the most-listened-to album on Apple Music globally, the #1 most-listened-to album in the U.S. on Spotify and became the second male country artist in history to be named Billboard’s Top Artist of the Year, beating out the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny and more.
Additionally, he became highest-selling country artist of all time according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and also the third-highest-selling artist in history, all-genre. Receiving a mind-blowing 80 new certifications, Wallen has now sold over 240 million units in his career, third only to global superstars Taylor Swift (247.5 million) and Drake (331.5 million).
The Billboard Top Artist nod was particularly historic considering the fact that Wallen became just the third country artist in history to capture the accomplishment, joining only Taylor Swift and Garth Brooks. When you take a further look into all the top spots he captured en route to the #1 artist spot, his year becomes even more unfathomable.
In addition to his Top Artist of 2025 win, the “Whiskey Glasses” singer would also take home over a dozen other #1 spots on Billboard’s year-end charts, including Top Male Artist, Top Country Artist, #1 Hot 100 Artist, #1 Hot 100 Male, Top Billboard 200 Male and more.
It’s just insane, and this week, he’s back at, as I’m the Problem once again leads Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for the 38th nonconsecutive week. This makes his career tally of weeks at #1 a whopping 224 weeks in total, allowing him to extend his lead as the artist with the most weeks at #1 in the chart’s 62-year history, according to Billboard.
He first topped the chart in August of 2020, and it was Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire (The Best of Johnny Cash) that was the first one to top it. Only 21 artists have notched 50 or more weeks at the top of the Top Country Albums chart, including George Strait, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Randy Travis and more.
It’s a generational run, and I expect it will only continue in 2026, especially if he ends up putting out a deluxe edition of the album, which some have speculated might be a possibility.
Morgan will embark on another massive stadium tour this weekend, is Still The Problem Tour, which will kick off in April and run through August.
