The World’s #1 Golfer, Scottie Scheffler, Is A BIG Country Music Fan

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler loves country music… and there’s a playlist to prove it. Even if you don’t consider yourself a fan of golf, you are probably familiar with the name Scottie Scheffler. The 29-year-old professional golfer has been on a dominant run in the past couple of years, and he can typically win tournaments with his B-game when other pros have to have their A-game. He was the favorite to win almost every single tournament in 2024 and 2025 (only a ravioli accident and a run-in with the law in Louisville, Kentucky slowed him down), and though he’s not off to a hot start in 2026 when you compare this season to last season, Scottie already has a win this year, he still maintains his No. 1 ranking… and he nearly had a comeback for the ages at Pebble Beach last weekend thanks to shots like this: WHAT A SHOT SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER! @attproam pic.twitter.com/j231Q7HhkQ — Golf on CBS (@GolfonCBS) February 15, 2026 Some credit his success with his approach to the game, while others say his unflappable demeanor and ability to stay cool under pressure makes him one of the best golfers in the world. If you ask me what I think contributes most to Scottie Scheffler’s greatness? I’d say it’s his appreciation for country music. Thanks to a playlist that’s posted by the bluetooth speaker brand Turtlebox (Scottie is an official ambassador for them), we now know that Scheffler is a certifiable country fanatic. Of the 54 song playlist that’s cleverly named the “Scheffler Shuffle” (that’s also what his patented, unorthodox-feet-movement in his golf swing is referred to as), over 30 songs belong to the country music and southern rock category. I’m no mathematician, but that’s an overwhelmingly country playlist. He doesn’t just love the big names. Scottie evidently likes the more underrated artists too, like William Clark Green, Ryan Bingham, and Shane Smith & The Saints. And when you look through the list of artists that Scottie prefers to listen to, there’s most definitely a Texas connection. Many Texas artists make appearances on the playlist, which checks out, since Scheffler is a Dallas native who even played his college golf at the University of Texas. If you are wondering what kind of country music Scottie is into, here’s the list of all the country and southern rock bands and artists that were included in the “Scheffler Shuffle” playlist: -“Take Me To Texas” by George Strait -“Traveler’s Song” by Flatland Cavalry -“She Likes the Beatles” by William Clark Green -“My Texas” by the Josh Abbott Band -“Good Lord Lorrie” by the Turnpike Troubadours -“Southside of Heaven” by Ryan Bingham -“When It Rains It Pours” by Luke Combs -“Creek Don’t Rise” by William Clark Green -“Amarillo by Morning” by George Strait -“Handle On You” by Parker McCollum -“New Year’s Day” by Charlie Robison -“Here For A Good Time” by George Strait -“No Shade Of Green” by Flatland Cavalry -“Young Man’s Blues” by Parker McCollum -“Big Sky” by Parker McCollum -“Hippies and Cowboys” by Cody Jinks -“Feelin’ Good Again” by Robert Earl Keen -“Come Back Down” by Flatland Cavalry -“Me and My Kind” by Cody Johnson -“Dance the Night Away” by Shane Smith & The Saints -“Can’t You See” by The Marshall Tucker Band -“Heard It In A Love Song” by The Marshall Tucker Band -“Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd -“Neon Moon” by Brooks & Dunn -“Wave on Wave” by Pat Green -“Satellite Radio” by Steve Earle -“10 Rounds with Jose Cuervo” by Tracy Byrd -“Buy Myself A Chance” by the Randy Rogers Band -“Fire On The Mountain” by The Marshall Tucker Band -“Texas on My Mind” by Pat Green Quite the nod to the Lone Star State having two songs with Texas in their title act as bookends for the playlist. Now it all makes sense. The natural rhythm in Scottie’s swing had to come from somewhere… and we now know (or assume) that Scheffler has the likes of Flatland Cavalry, George Strait, and The Marshall Tucker Band to thank. All in all, it’s one heck of a playlist that the pro golfer and Turtlebox worked up and put out there. In conclusion, if you want to play golf like the best player in the world… you better start listening to country music like the best golfer in the world. It’s just basic science.
