FNC’s Gutfeld Absolutely Nukes ‘Shut-in’ Losers at HuffPost for Anti-Team USA Screed

Fox News Channel host Greg Gutfeld closed out the A-block of Monday’s The Five with a stemwinder lambasting the insufferable, anti-American left who’ve felt it pertinent to trash Team USA because certain athletes do not appear to share their toxic wokeism, spend their free time attacking President Trump, and base their happiness or misery based on the country’s political situation. Specifically, Gutfeld blasted “the shut-in bloggers at Huffington Post...who’ve never won anything” for their piece telling readers it’s okay to oppose cheering on American athletes or supporting the flag because Trump’s in office. WATCH: Here was @GregGutfeld’s full takedown of the leftists only celebrating Team USA athletes who align with their political views and Trump hatred while trashing those who love this country or refuse to talk politics at the Olympics... “I couldn’t watch the Olympics because… pic.twitter.com/xQq9YKmhhs — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) February 23, 2026 Gutfeld first asked out loud how political the Olympics would have been if Kamala Harris had won: Could you imagine if Kamala Harris were president how political this would have been? She would have sent Rachel Levine to the locker room to celebrate gold and trans in the locker room at the same time. I like Jack Hughes. I think it’s hypocritical, though, why isn’t missing teeth appealing in hockey, but not when I fall down and smashed my teeth? It’s why I quit meth. He then brought up figureskater Alysa Liu and how some on the left wondered “how can the right celebrate her because she’s woke.” Gutfeld explained such a sentiment is “a self-own to them and a compliment to us” in that “their response reveals that they can’t celebrate a person unless they are somewhat or definitely on their political side, but we can.” “We don’t care and why would we want to be on that divide? I don’t like you. I — I won’t celebrate your win because you’re not as woke as me? I think we should all feel good about her and if we can’t, there’s something wrong. The — the shut-in bloggers at Huffington Post would kill, you know, would kill to win something in their lives. And also, when they say shame on America, they — they — they don’t understand that many people, most people in the world, want to come here,” he added, making his first reference to the deranged blog. Next, he said the anti-American hate on the left for certain Olympians was proof “wokesters...don’t have context” beyond their boilerplate beliefs that “America is bad” and “the worst country ever, except for the rest of the countries” that “they leave out.” Despite this purposeful oversight, Gutfeld argued, there remains “the great myth that somehow the left and the woke are more cultured, more aware than we are, like, that we’re shut-ins, were dumb rednecks.” He hit his crescendo with the reality that the left thinks being cultured is “visiting that ethnic restaurant in their neighborhood” while not accepting “how great it is to be here” and “be happy to get home” considering the plethora of “limitations” in other countries. Instead, he said, the left derives “their African history from Joy Reid” and thus “don’t know shit.” Gutfeld returned to his grievances with the media, again referencing the Huffington Post and also the reporters at the Milan-Cortina games trying to bait Team USA into attacking the flag and/or the President: But lastly, this has got to drive the media crazy because they spent their time grilling U.S. athletes. How do you feel representing the United States? Well, get this. They feel great. You feel bad because you’ve never won anything. You’ve never worked hard for anything, and you’ll never know what it’s like to be proud of anything. You’re alone. You have three cats. You’re blogging for the Huffington Post. I mean, it’s sad. I would — right now, we should print the suicide hotline. Close pal and co-host Dana Perino went to break, slightly amused and exasperated: “That — we definitely ended on a high note. Thank you for that.” To see the relevant FNC transcript from February 24, click “expand.” FNC’s The Five February 23, 2026 5:10 p.m. Eastern [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: USA Hockey Team Wins Gold at the Olympics] GREG GUTFELD: I couldn’t watch the Olympics because when I look at it, all I see is ICE and then I look at the goalies and I’m like, they’re wearing masks. JESSE WATTERS: Oh! GUTFELD: ICE, masks, no, thank you. Could you imagine if Kamala Harris were president how political this would have been? She would have sent Rachel Levine to the locker room to celebrate gold and trans in the locker room at the same time. I like Jack Hughes. I think it’s hypocritical, though, why isn’t missing teeth appealing in hockey, but not when I fall down and smashed my teeth? It’s why I quit meth. You want political, we loved Alysa Liu, right? She won the gold and people were saying, how can that right celebrate her because she’s woke? And it’s kind of a self-own to them and a compliment to us. You know, their response reveals that they can’t celebrate a person unless they are somewhat or definitely on their political side. But we can. We can. We don’t care and why would we want to be on that divide? I don’t like you. I — I won’t celebrate your win because you’re not as woke as me? And also, when they say shame on America, they — they — they don’t understand that many people, most people in the world, want to come here.  [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: HuffPost Haters; Liberal Media Defends Not Supporting Team USA] There was a couple that fled the United States to Canada and there was a piece on them that when they — when they got there, it was too expensive to live there. They can’t find a home and they can’t find a job. What — what happens with a lot of these wokesters is they don’t have context, right? America is bad. America is the worst country ever, except for the rest of the countries. That’s the part they leave out. Because — and this is the great myth that somehow the left and the woke are more cultured, more aware than we are, like, that we’re shut-ins, were dumb rednecks. No, they are not worldly. They don’t even know how the world is. They think that thinking globally is visiting that ethnic restaurant in their neighborhood. They know nothing about the actual world or they would love this place. When you actually travel, like a lot of these athletes do around the world, you know how great it is to be here. You go to another country, you’ll experience limitations and then you’ll be happy to get home. But the left? They get their African history from Joy Reid. They don’t know shit. They’re — excuse me, — I’m just emotional over the Olympic win. But lastly, this has got to drive the media crazy because they spent their time grilling U.S. DANA PERINO: That — we definitely ended on a high note. GUTFELD: Yes. PERINO: Thank you for that.
