Luke Combs Is Giving Fans A Early Preview Of His New Album, “The Way I Am,” For The Next 24 Hours
Keeping the hype train rolling.
After what felt like months upon months of anticipation and speculation, back on January 7th, Luke Combs announced his sixth studio album The Way I Am, which is set for release on March 30th. Produced by Combs, Jonathan Singleton and Chip Matthews, the record will feature a whopping 22 songs, and he says he’s very proud of the album:
“It’s been a long process getting this thing going, but I’m really proud of this record. I’ve loved the song ‘Sleepless in a Hotel Room’ for a long time and it’s been awesome to see how excited the fans are for that one as well.”
Even before the announcement of the new album, Combs had been on a tear release-wise, dropping the likes of “Giving Her Away,” “Back in the Saddle,” “My Kinda Saturday Night,” “Days Like These” and the highly anticipated “Sleepless in a Hotel Room.” The new drops have been so successful, in fact, that “Days Like These” and “Sleepless in a Hotel Room” are currently both sitting inside the Top 10 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
In February, the “Hurricane” singer would finally reveal the full 22-song tracklist for the record, which highlights include the inclusion of the highly-anticipated “Wish Upon Whiskey,” an Alison Krauss duet, “Ever Mine,” a Cody Johnson-penned track, “I Ain’t No Cowboy” and the previously-teased song, “A Man Was Born.”

With it officially being March and The Way I Am set to drop 18 days, Combs is giving fans an limited-time preview of all 22 tracks on the album. Fittingly, he’s also doing it in celebration of his 36th birthday, which is today, March 2nd.
In an email sent exclusively to his fanclub, the Bootleggers, Combs would note how instead of wanting a birthday gift from his fans, he’d rather give them something special. Of course, this special gift was none other than an exclusive preview of the 15 unreleased songs that are set to appear on The Way I Am.
The only catch with this exclusive birthday gift is the fact that fans only have 24 hours to listen to the previews, which all total roughly 45-seconds each and can be listened to HERE.
“Bootleggers, today’s my birthday but rather than y’all giving me a gift, I want to give you one. My new album The Way I Am is out in a little over 2 weeks on March 20, but starting now and for the next 24 hours all 15 unreleased songs from the album are on a site I had my team create so y’all could preview them. I’m not posting this anywhere else. I’m only sending the link to the Bootleggers, and I would love for you to check them out via the button below and let me know what you think. I can’t wait for y’all to have the full album very soon. As always, thank you for everything.”
If you’ve been keeping up with Combs’ recent interviews leading up to The Way I Am’s release, he’s made it clear that he’s looking to remind fans that he still the artist that came off firing right out of the gate with heaters like “Hurricane,” “One Number Away,” “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and more. In particular, he’d tell Apple Music’s Kelleigh Bannen upon the release of “Back in the Saddle” that song and album itself was a reminder to fans that he can still “kick your teeth in” with some classic, crowd-pleasing anthems
“It’s not an arrogance thing. It’s this mindset you need; you have to have this unwavering confidence in yourself to just keep going and to succeed. My mindset is, ‘Let me make you remember if you can’t.’ Just ’cause I don’t make enough TikToks doesn’t mean I can’t kick your teeth in, ’cause I can. That’s the mindset.”
Though time will tell upon the full release of The Way I Am, these teasers point exactly in that direction. Particularly, “Alcohol of Fame,” “Daytona 499” and “Tell ‘Em About Tonight” all sound incredibly reminiscent to the early days of Combs and are bound to be fan-favorites when the album officially releases. Additionally, the Cody Johnson co-write, “I Ain’t No Cowboy,” and the Krauss duet, “Ever Mine” look to be some of the standouts when they’re fully released on March 20th.
Before you go, fire up Combs’ latest release, “Be By You.”
