Trump the Wolf Topples von der Leyen From Her Pony — Saint Paul Style
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen went to Paris to deliver a speech at the World Summit on Nuclear Energy. That’s like inviting a vegan to a barbecue and asking them to grill their own ribs. Something important happened there for Europe — and for the United States as well. The EU has just admitted a mistake. It’s incredible: von der Leyen has sided with the United States. In 10 days of the Iranian war, Trump managed to convert the sinner von der Leyen in record time, performing the miracle of finally making her see the light.
Her speech contains subtle nuances that no one should overlook. She managed to talk about energy without mentioning “climate” or “climate change” even once. That has never happened before. The president of the European Commission has not turned her back on renewable energy, of course, because after the immense amount of money Europe has sunk into that bottomless pit, a change of strategy in a single speech is practically impossible. But the novelty is that she now says nuclear energy is just as clean and necessary as renewables. Even more: she admits that it is impossible to withstand today’s energy tensions while relying solely on renewables — something we Spaniards know all too well, since less than a year ago the Sánchez government left us in the dark for an entire day, in the biggest blackout in Spanish history, after experimenting with renewables at the expense of nuclear power. I repeat: after years of foolish rhetoric, Europe has made a 180-degree turn on energy thanks to Israel and the United States going out and hunting ayatollahs.
“But Europe is neither an oil nor a gas producer,” von der Leyen acknowledges. “For fossil fuels, we are completely dependent on expensive and volatile imports, putting us at a structural disadvantage to other regions. The current Middle East crisis provides a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities this creates.” I repeat: after years of foolish rhetoric, Europe has made a 180-degree turn on energy thanks to Israel and the United States going out and hunting ayatollahs. I hope all the far-left idiots who have been trying since the 1990s to fill our countryside with disgusting windmills and shut down nuclear power plants hear this part of the speech: “Nuclear energy is reliable, providing electricity all year round, around the clock.” (RELATED: Thank You, Trump, for Reminding Europe’s Leaders How Utterly Stupid They Are)
This is not the first time Ursula von der Leyen has unexpectedly reversed her supposedly firm convictions. I wrote about it here in The American Spectator a few years ago. Ms. von der Leyen was in love with her pony, Dolly. It was very pretty, let her pet it, and made the European People’s Party politician happy (we can talk another day about the number of idiots and woke extremists who make up that party — theoretically center-right, but in the United States it would look almost like Antifa). Von der Leyen, an animal lover (perhaps that’s why she was so fond of Pedro Sánchez), championed a ban on wolf hunting for years. No one in Europe has taken responsibility for the losses suffered by farmers because of this folly. But one night, the wolf identified as “GW950m” — whether native to Lower Saxony or one of the refugees brought in by Merkel, we don’t know — showed up at the farm and ate Dolly. Von der Leyen, distraught, raised her voice against wolves and urged local communities to implement urgent measures to cull them. Her rhetoric changed overnight. Her rhetoric changed overnight. By the next morning, farmers were finally allowed to defend themselves against wolves — a technique primitive man had already invented millions of years ago
Donald Trump has become the “GW950m” wolf Europe needed to begin its liberation from the climate farce. Germany — the same country that imposed green policies across the continent in the 21st century — began reversing course on this madness more than a year ago, after seeing how electric cars were destroying its automotive industry and how green energy was undermining its economy. Now, Ursula has fallen from her horse as well.
A couple of years ago, fed up with all this madness that Europe and the United Nations were trying to impose hand in hand, I wrote my book, I Will Not Eat Crickets: An Angry Satirist Declares War on the Globalist Elite. It is gratifying to think that in just two years, all that environmentalist and globalist stupidity is already being rolled back, thanks to the efforts of brave men like Donald Trump, Javier Milei in Argentina, and the new European right.
These hypocrites who claimed they were coming to save the planet have instead ruined the West. They must return everything they have taken from us through their exorbitant green taxes — and then retire to do penance somewhere as far away as possible from where political decisions are made. And I trust that, in that place of penance, von der Leyen will have to sit at the table with wolves, and that her only food will be the same cricket flour they authorized for the European food industry in order to reduce the ecological footprint of traditional agriculture and livestock farming.
