Since Bruce Willis’ frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, his wife, Emma Heming Willis, has remained his biggest advocate. The mother of Bruce’s youngest daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, has worked tirelessly to create dialogue surrounding dementia. She’s advocated not just for Bruce, but for the millions of others living with this devastating disease. On March 12, Emma Heming Willis made an exciting announcement at the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration‘s Hope Rising Benefit in New York. According to People, she launched the Emma & Bruce Willis Fund for Dementia Research and Caregiver Support. Bruce has always led with generosity and heart, and I know he would be proud to see this effort helping families facing this disease.” Emma previously told People she felt compelled to write her book, The Unexpected Journey, as an outlet. “I wrote the book that I wish someone had handed me on the day we received the diagnosis. Caregiving is hard, and there are many people doing it with little to no support,” she said. “The only way I can get through this is to help someone else feel less alone.” This story’s featured image is by VCG/VCG via Getty Images.
