Prince William Shares Rare Photo and Pens Loving Message to Princess Diana

Prince William is thinking of his late mother, Princess Diana, today. The 43-year-old royal shared a rare photo on his official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account for England’s Mother’s Day, which is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of lent each year. In the photo, William is a toddler, standing in a field of colorful wild flowers. Princess Diana sits beside him and smiles for the camera. “Remembering my mother, today and every day,” he captioned. “Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Princess Diana died in a car crash on August 31st, 1997. His fans shared their love and condolences in the comments. “William, like you, my mother died when I was a teenager,” one person wrote. “Parenting and then grandparenting is a wonderful journey, but hard at times.” “Carrying her legacy on with honor! She was a beauty!” wrote another. “Diana must be very proud of the man you became,” someone cheered. “She takes care of her Wombat from above.” Prince William Celebrates Princess Diana and Princess Kate This Mother’s Day While Prince William continues to mourn his own mother today, he also celebrates his wife, Princess Kate, who has given him three children: Prince George,12; Princess Charlotte, 10; and Prince Louis, 7. This is her second Mother’s Day since announcing her remission from cancer. William has never been shy about admitting that he would be lost without her. “It’s been quite a change for me personally,” he once said about becoming a father. “I’m very lucky in the support I have from Catherine. She’s an amazing mother and a fantastic wife. I’ve struggled at times.
