“We Gotta Run It Back”: Parker McCollum & Koe Wetzel Confirm They’ve Recorded A New Song Together

Finally running it back. Despite only having one officially released song together in their careers, Parker McCollum and Koe Wetzel have been one of the most dynamic duos in the Texas scene over the past decade. Of course, the pair debuted around the same time, with McCollum releasing The Limestone Kid in 2015, while Wetzel released his debut album, Noise Complaint, just a year later in 2016. It was on Wetzel’s Noise Complaint where we received our first and only collaboration between the two to date, “Love,” which has not only remained one of the two’s most popular songs to date but has also left fans begging for another collab for a decade on this point. That’s finally about to change, however. In a recent interview with Road Dog Texas after Wetzel’s action-packed weekend celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his infamous February 28, 2016, arrest, the pair revealed that they’ve finally been in the studio together working on a new song. After being asked if we’re ever going to see another Parker-Koe collab again, the “Hell of a Year” singer would let the cat out of the bag immediately. Wasting no time, he’d reveal that they spent an entire day in the studio back in January, noting they spent the entire day writing and recording. “I really want to be honest about it. We were in the studio together about four weeks ago. We spent a whole day in the studio writing and recording.” Koe would chime in, confirming they got a song out of the session before joking that they need to outdo “Love” if they want to officially release the track. “We got a song out of it, but we need to outdo ‘Love.'” Seemingly confirming it will eventually be released, Koe would simply say: “We gotta run it back.” McCollum would share a similar sentiment, noting how he thinks they still have a lot left in the tank. “I think he’s right. I think there’s a lot left in that tank, too.” It’s safe to say that whenever this track comes out, whether it be the one they just recorded or another, it’s going to break the internet. “Love” has remained a cult classic for a decade at this point, and with Wetzel and McCollum only getting more popular from a mainstream perspective over the past few years, highlighted by Wetzel scoring the #1 most-played song on country radio in 2025 with “High Road” and McCollum grabbing multiple #1s recently, it has the potential to be one of their biggest hits to date. “Love” The Night Champion World Tour Dates May 3 | Melbourne, Vic.
