DEVELOPING: Dubai Airport Suspends ALL Flights After Iranian Drone Attack

Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest travel hubs, has suspended all flights “until further notice” after an Iranian drone attack. “Iran launches drone attack at Dubai International Airport, sending a massive plume of smoke into the sky after hitting a fuel tanker,” Fox News reports. Israel also announced an expansion Monday of operations by its ground forces in Lebanon, where it has mounted a fierce response to missile, rocket, and drone attacks by Hezbollah, the militant group aligned with Iran. The drone attack at Dubai International Airport set off a massive fire and forced the brief suspension of flights at what is normally among the busiest hubs in the world. Hours later, Israeli officials detailed their strikes on Iran and said ground troops were stepping up operations in Lebanon, where a bombing campaign against Hezbollah has displaced hundreds of thousands of people. With oil prices spiking to more than $104 per barrel, cargo traffic largely stalled in the strategic Strait of Hormuz and millions of people living in fear across the Middle East, world leaders are scrambling for solutions but divided on a path forward. “All flights to and from Dubai have been temporarily suspended. Some flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport, the office said on X. The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, meanwhile, said it was suspending flights at the airport “as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff”. It did not say when it expected flights to resume. Authorities in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, are responding to “an incident involving a missile falling on a civilian vehicle in Al Bahyan area”, according to the city’s media office. The incident resulted in the death of a Palestinian, it said in a post on X. Later on Monday morning, the emirate’s media office said a fire had broken out in an industrial zone in Fujairah after a drone attack. Civil defence teams were trying to bring the fire under control, and no injuries were reported, it added. A fire broke out at the Fujairah oil hub after debris fell during the interception of a drone on Saturday. The incidents came three days after the city media office said two falling drones wounded four people near the airport.
