Photos by Miguel Santana Backcountry Discovery Routes is set to release its latest route on April 2. The new Ozarks BDR-X will debut with a special launch event and film premiere at Mach 1 Powersports in Rogers, Arkansas, alongside a live YouTube broadcast. The trailer is out now and can be seen below. Backcountry Discovery Routes is a nonprofit organization that creates and preserves off-pavement riding opportunities, and its BDR-X routes are shorter routes that can be completed in a long weekend. The Ozarks BDR-X is a 480-mile route through the Arkansas backcountry, and it includes 10 optional advanced sections. This loop begins and ends in Jasper, Arkansas, along the Buffalo National River, and travels through the Boston Mountains. Points of interest include the Oark General Store, the Hawksbill Crag overlook, and the Arkansas Dragon switchbacks toward Mt. Judea. It also includes several water crossings, primitive forest roads, waterfalls, river valleys, and access to small mountain towns for refueling and food. It is designed to take four to five days to complete. “Arkansas offers some of the most underrated adventure riding terrain in the country,” said Michael Bielecki, route architect, film director, and BDR routes manager. “This route is packed with incredible scenery, fun technical riding, and the welcoming small towns that make adventure travel so memorable. We’re excited to finally bring a BDR-style route to this incredible region.” The film premiere event on April 2 will open at 4 p.m. Central. A presentation from the BDR team will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the film premiere and a Q&A session. The YouTube broadcast begins at 6 p.m. and can be found at the BDR YouTube channel. On the day of the launch, travel resources will be available on the BDR website, including free GPS tracks, digital maps, and the official printed map of the route.
